Rugby Model
The Rugby Model was created to replicate the functional neck strength values of a rugby forward player and run injury injury prevention analysis. Different version of the model are available: 1) Model with updated mass distribution from DEXA scans and neck strength from in vivo data - The Rugby Model; 2) Rugby Model update with new bushing parameters based on in vitro testing 3) Rugby Model update based on neck muscle ISO force and path from MRI. Models are available for OpenSim 3.3 and 4.0
MRI-informed model wrapping surfaces of a rugby player and EMG-assisted analysis of muscle activations during tackling
Dec 20, 2019

This update contains a new model with MRI-informed wrapping surfaces of the neck and results pertaining to the estimation of neck muscle activation during dynamic impact events using EMG-assisted modelling. Rugby Player Muscles Scaled

Nov 01, 2015

This version of the Ruby Model can be used for dynamic analysis and includes: a) a refined estimation of model inertial properties based on DEXA scan of a rugby player; b) lower limbs in order to allow the simultaneous application of multiple external loads; c) kinematics of the cervical spine from Head and Neck Vasavada's Model; d)scapula-clavicular segments coupled motion with respect to humeral elevation based on cadaveric data. Finally, this version of the Rugby Model includesneck muscles scaled on neck functional measurements of adult rugby players.  View License
