Summary:
Software freezes after opening tutorials

Detailed description
I had been utilizing the tutorials for the software successfully last week and today I was unable to because whenever I would click on the "OpenSimTutorial1" in the "Examples and Tutorials" tab, the software would freeze completely, so that I have to close out and retry. I then tried to open up the tutorials using OpenSim on my laptop, and the same problem occurred. I asked my supervisor if he could open the tutorials and he was also having the same issue on a different computer. The software is also freezing when I try to open the User Guide.

Hi Lauren,
The tutorial tabs just take you to the website. You can access by going to the link below. There may be an issue with opensim openning your web browser.

Hi,

We are connected to the internet so that can't be the issue.
Is the tutorial online so that I can access it or should I
just uninstall then reinstall the software perhaps?

Thank you!
Lauren

Hi Lauren,

The likely cause of this is internet connectivity as the code tries to get the latest version of the tutorial online before looking in the local install. I'd suggest you check your internet connection and if that seems to work let us know as we haven't had any similar reports from hundreds of installations. Could also be a missing or hung web browser as this's what we use to display the tutorial pdf file.

Please let us know what you find as we'd like to make sure this important issue is resolved to satisfaction for the benefit of hundreds of students and researchers that use the software.

Best regards
