Double-Clicked Marker Selection in Navigator Pane brings up incorrect marker in properties pane

Detailed description
Double-Clicking a marker in the Navigator pane will cause the load the previous selected marker in properties pane. Users would unwittingly start editing the incorrect marker.

This behavior has been confirmed on three systems for 3.2 (windows 7 and 8) and was confirmed that it was not present in 3.1.

Thanks for the expert explanation for why we may have failed, but at the end of the day it boils down to this, we allow users to define a problem that causes us to crash mysteriously downstream. I think we can do a better job detecting this scenario before we call lapack to begin with, and hopefully can give a better useful message.
