Detailed Description

ExperimentalFrame is a concrete Frame that represents the experimental value of a Frame and can be used to display its frame in the OpenSim Visualizer.

Unlike its PhysicalFrame counterpart, an ExperimentalFrame is a measured value and not physically attached to the musculoskeletal model. It is assumed that its value is its transform with respect to the lab (Ground) frame.

The transform in Ground value of an ExperimentalFrame is obtained from its Input<Transform>("transform_in_ground").

Member Typedef Documentation

◆ Self

This typedef might be useful within the member functions of this class.

This is generated by the OpenSim_DECLARE_*_OBJECT macros.

◆ Super

Use this typedef to refer to the superclass of this class.

Avoid using the explicit type name of the superclass; this would introduce bugs if the superclass is changed.

This is generated by the OpenSim_DECLARE_*_OBJECT macros.

inline

Member Function Documentation

◆ assign()

void OpenSim::ExperimentalFrame::assign ( Object aObject)
inlineoverride

This allows copy assignment in the Java GUI.

Exceptions
Exceptionif the argument is not of type ExperimentalFrame.

◆ clone()

ExperimentalFrame* OpenSim::ExperimentalFrame::clone ( ) const
inlineoverridevirtual

Create a new heap-allocated copy of the concrete object to which this Object refers.

It is up to the caller to delete the returned object when no longer needed. Every concrete object deriving from Object implements this pure virtual method automatically, via the declaration macro it invokes (e.g., OpenSim_DECLARE_CONCRETE_OBJECT()). Note that the concrete class overrides modify the return type to be a pointer to the concrete object; that still overrides the base class method because the return type is covariant with (that is, derives from) Object.

Implements OpenSim::Frame.

◆ connectInput_transform_in_ground() [1/2]

void OpenSim::ExperimentalFrame::connectInput_transform_in_ground ( const AbstractChannel channel,
const std::string &  alias = ""
)
inline

Connect this Input to an output channel of type SimTK::Transform.

You can optionally provide an alias that will be used by this component to refer to the channel. Call finalizeConnections() afterwards to update the input's connectee path property. The reference to the channel set here takes precedence over the connectee path property.

◆ connectInput_transform_in_ground() [2/2]

void OpenSim::ExperimentalFrame::connectInput_transform_in_ground ( const AbstractOutput output,
const std::string &  alias = ""
)
inline

Connect this Input to a single-valued (single-channel) Output.

The output must be of type SimTK::Transform. This input is single-valued and thus cannot connect to a list output. You can optionally provide an alias that will be used by this component to refer to the output. Call finalizeConnections() afterwards to update the input's connectee path property. The reference to the output set here takes precedence over the connectee path property.

◆ get_color()

const SimTK::Vec3& OpenSim::ExperimentalFrame::get_color ( ) const
inline

Get the value of the color property.

◆ get_default_transform()

const SimTK::Transform& OpenSim::ExperimentalFrame::get_default_transform ( ) const
inline

Get the value of the default_transform property.

◆ get_dimensions()

const SimTK::Vec3& OpenSim::ExperimentalFrame::get_dimensions ( ) const
inline

Get the value of the dimensions property.

◆ getClassName()

static const std::string& OpenSim::ExperimentalFrame::getClassName ( )
inlinestatic

This returns "ExperimentalFrame".

See getConcreteClassName() if you want the class name of the underlying concrete object instead.

This is generated by the OpenSim_DECLARE_*_OBJECT macros.

◆ getConcreteClassName()

const std::string& OpenSim::ExperimentalFrame::getConcreteClassName ( ) const
inlineoverridevirtual

Returns the class name of the concrete Object-derived class of the actual object referenced by this Object, as a string.

This is the string that is used as the tag for this concrete object in an XML file. Every concrete class derived from Object automatically overrides this method via the declaration macro it uses. See getClassName() to get the class name of the referencing (possibly abstract) class rather than the concrete object.

See also
getClassName()

Implements OpenSim::Frame.

◆ safeDownCast()

static ExperimentalFrame* OpenSim::ExperimentalFrame::safeDownCast ( OpenSim::Object obj)
inlinestatic

For use in MATLAB and Python to access the concrete class.

Example: cObj = ExperimentalFrame.safeDownCast(obj). This is equivalent to dynamic_cast<ExperimentalFrame*>(obj) in C++.

◆ set_color()

void OpenSim::ExperimentalFrame::set_color ( const SimTK::Vec3 &  value)
inline

Set the value of the color property.

◆ set_default_transform()

void OpenSim::ExperimentalFrame::set_default_transform ( const SimTK::Transform &  value)
inline

Set the value of the default_transform property.

◆ set_dimensions()

void OpenSim::ExperimentalFrame::set_dimensions ( const SimTK::Vec3 &  value)
inline

Set the value of the dimensions property.

◆ upd_color()

SimTK::Vec3& OpenSim::ExperimentalFrame::upd_color ( )
inline

Get a writable reference to the color property.

◆ upd_default_transform()

SimTK::Transform& OpenSim::ExperimentalFrame::upd_default_transform ( )
inline

Get a writable reference to the default_transform property.

◆ upd_dimensions()

SimTK::Vec3& OpenSim::ExperimentalFrame::upd_dimensions ( )
inline

Get a writable reference to the dimensions property.

OpenSim Property, Socket, Output, Input Documentation

◆ color

SimTK::Vec3 OpenSim::ExperimentalFrame::color

"The color of the block used to display the ExperimentalFrame."

This property appears in XML files under the tag <color>. This property was generated with the OpenSim_DECLARE_PROPERTY macro; see Property to learn about the property system.

See also
get_color(), upd_color(), set_color()

◆ default_transform

SimTK::Transform OpenSim::ExperimentalFrame::default_transform

"The default location of the ExperimentalFrame in Ground."

This property appears in XML files under the tag <default_transform>. This property was generated with the OpenSim_DECLARE_PROPERTY macro; see Property to learn about the property system.

See also
get_default_transform(), upd_default_transform(), set_default_transform()

◆ dimensions

SimTK::Vec3 OpenSim::ExperimentalFrame::dimensions

"The block dimensions (m) used to display the ExperimentalFrame."

This property appears in XML files under the tag <dimensions>. This property was generated with the OpenSim_DECLARE_PROPERTY macro; see Property to learn about the property system.

See also
get_dimensions(), upd_dimensions(), set_dimensions()

◆ transform_in_ground

SimTK::Transform OpenSim::ExperimentalFrame::transform_in_ground

"Provide the ExperimentalFrame's transform in Ground as observed."

This input is needed at stage SimTK::Stage::Time. In an XML file, you can set this Input's connectee path via the <input_transform_in_ground > element. The syntax for a connectee path is <path/to/component>|<output_name>[:<channel_name>][(<alias>)]. This input was generated with the OpenSim_DECLARE_INPUT macro; see AbstractInput for more information.
