Release Name: spineT1S1_RIBeffect
1. The shared generic model represents the condition where rib cage effect is implicitly incorporated. For other conditions, please refer to the published paper for details (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jbiomech.2019.109437). 2. When the model is scaled or joint locations are updated, the corresponding bushing frames need to be updated (IMPORTANT). 3. In the expression of the ExpressionBasedBushingForce element, ‘CFy’ refers to the effects of compressive loading. 1). When using OpenSim-GUI, the user can just replace all ‘CFy’ in the expression with ZERO. In this case, the effects of compressive loading will NOT be taken into account. 2). To enable the effects of CFy, users have to adjust the original definition of the bushing element in OpenSim Library. a. users need to build OpenSim from the source. (detailed instructions can be found here: https://simtk-confluence.stanford.edu/display/OpenSim/Building+OpenSim+from+Source). b. In ExpressionBasedBushingForce.cpp (after line 293), define ‘CFy’. --------------- fk[4] = FyProg.evaluate(deflectionVars); if (fk[4]<0) deflectionVars["CFy"] = -1 * fk[4]; else deflectionVars["CFy"] = 0; ------------- c. rebuild the project. d. run rebuilt OpenSim executables using the command line or tools like MATLAB. For example, forward dynamics simulations: Command = [E:\OpenSimProject\OpenSim\install\bin\forward.exe ' -S ' out_path_xml];
