*OpenSim Software to Help Design Smart Suits for Soldiers*
The OpenSim project has a new contract with DARPA, through their Warrior
Web Program <http://www.darpa.mil/Our_Work/DSO/Programs/Warrior_Web.aspx>.
The funds will enable us to add injury risk meters, metabolic predictions,
and other tools for performing simulation-based design with OpenSim, all of
which will be made available to the biomechanics community. Read more about
the project here<http://opensim.stanford.edu/support/darpa_warrior_web.html>
.

*Postdoctoral Fellowship in the NMBL Lab at Stanford*
The OpenSim project at Stanford University, led by Scott Delp and the
Neuromuscular Biomechanics Lab, is now accepting applications for a
Postdoctoral Fellow. Please see the full
posting<http://biomch-l.isbweb.org/threads/24173-Postdoctoral-Fellowship-Neuromuscular-Biomechanics-Lab-at-Stanford>
for
more information and forward to anyone who may be interested and qualified.

*OpenSim Webinar Series*
We've had several webinars this summer and fall on topics ranging from
stroke-rehabilitation to muscle models. You can learn more and watch
recordings at the OpenSim webinar
page<http://opensim.stanford.edu/support/webinars.html>.
Our next webinar will feature the NMS Builder software for creating
OpenSim models
from imaging data.

*Title*: NMSBuilder Software for Creating Patient-Specific OpenSim Models
*Speaker*: Giordano Valente, Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli
*Time*: Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. Pacific Time

*Second Call for Abstracts for CMBBE Symposium*
We encourage you to participate in the International Symposium on Computer
Methods in Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering (CMBBE) in Salt Lake
City, Utah from April 3-6, 2013. The abstract deadline is December 14. The
CMBBE Symposium will feature an OpenSim workshop, a special session on
Dynamic Musculoskeletal Simulations, and a plenary talk by Scott Delp,
director of the OpenSim project.

*Website Maintenance on November 21st*
Our wiki-based documentation<http://simtk-confluence.stanford.edu:8080/display/OpenSim/OpenSim+Support>
will
be undergoing server maintenance on the evening of Wednesday, November
