*Webinar: Best Practices for Verification and Validation of Musculoskeletal
Models and Simulations*
*Tuesday June 16, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time*
Jennifer Hicks and Scott Delp will lead a webinar on best practices for
evaluating the accuracy and credibility of modeling and simulation studies.
The webinar complements the team's recent paper

and validation, and will include a series of case studies illustrating how

*OpenSim 3.3 Coming Soon: Sign Up to Be a Beta Tester*
The OpenSim development team is preparing to release our next version of
the software, OpenSim 3.3, later this month. The release will address top
priority issues and bugs identified by our user base, including issues with
scaling and static optimization and compatibility with Visual Studio 2013.
A new example demonstrating how to troubleshoot common issues with static
optimization will accompany the new release. If you'd like to be a beta

*ICRA Tutorial Recap: Bridging Gaps Between Computational Biomechanics and
Robotics*
Several members of the current and past OpenSim team at Stanford
participated in a tutorial at the International Conference on Robotics and
Automation in Seattle on May 26. Emel Demircan, an OpenSim Fellow
<http://simtk-confluence.stanford.edu:8080/display/OpenSim/OpenSim+Fellows>,
organized the session and discussed how computational biomechanics can
contribute to robotics. Ajay Seth, Chris Dembia, and Matt DeMers gave an
overview of OpenSim for simulating human and robot dynamics and control.
Kat Steele, Tom Uchida, and Soha Pouya discussed applications of OpenSim
from understanding gait pathology to informing exoskeleton design. See the
