[M-W] an act, process, or instance of validating; especially : the determination of the degree of validity of a measuring device
Committee Definition
the process of determining the degree to which a model is an accurate representation of the real world from the perspective of the intended uses of the model. [ASME V&V10]
validated: through verification and validation, a model can be declared “validated for its intended use” once it has met the validation requirements.
