Date: March 8, 2016
Time: 2:00 PM EST
Means: In person meeting
Attendees:
- Ahmet Erdemir
- Tammy Owings
- Benjamin Landis
- Robb Colbrunn
Agenda:
- Discuss immediate action items from past meetings.
- Readiness for in vivo testing.
- Decide immediate action items for next meeting.
- Other.
Immediate Action Items:
- Ahmet
- Continue interacting with Medical Device Solutions personnel for the design and manufacturing of ultrasound probe - force transducer attachment and the handle.
- Explore the possibility to compile SOFA modeler for surgical simulations.
- Tammy
- Continue detailing in vivo testing protocols in the relevant specifications page.
- Send Ahmet the link to the bag to purchase for in vitro testing.
- Contact John-Eric Jelovsek about surgical mats for standardization of laying surface for in vivo testing.
- Ben
- Continue working on tetrahedral element convergence in simple prismatic model under indentation.
Ahmet, Tammy & Ben
- Meet to review DICOM images on resolution changes to due zooming in.
Robb & Tara
- Document data file labeling for in vivo testing.
- Convert subject configuration format to XML.
- Start working on software implementation for collection and utilization of orientation data.
- Tara
- Update data collection features for force measurements during in vivo testing.
Notes:
- Discuss immediate action items from past meetings.
- Ahmet went over the design provided by Medical Device Solutions personnel. A few convenience features will be added, i.e. for cable attachments. It is anticipated that the design will be finalized in the upcoming week.
- Ahmet did not have chance to compile SOFA modeler. He will look into this for the next meeting.
- Tammy uploaded the logo for instrumented ultrasound system. She ordered ultrasound gel from the Cleveland Clinic storeroom. She also showed a bag to fit a leg specimen. She asked Ahmet to purchase it online. She will send him the link. She will contact Eric to ask his advice on surgical mats.
- Tammy collected sample ultrasound images with different zoom in and contrast settings. Ahmet will go over DICOM files with Tammy and Ben to show using image viewers and what he would look for to identify resolution.
- Tammy still needs to provide details of in vivo testing protocol in the wiki, i.e. standard operation procedure to complete a test.
- Ben started expanding the wiki page on indentation modeling. He will continue adding information.
- Ben provided the new scans for the ultrasound probe 14L5.
- Ben ran simulations on a simple model of a prism, with tetrahedral and hexahedral elements. He needs to document his results. He also found a manuscript by the University of Utah group on the use of tetrahedral meshes in FEBio.
- Robb started documenting subject configuration file in the relevant infrastructure page. He will need to expand details on file naming convention.
- Tara was out of town. Feedback on her activities will be discussed when she comes back.
- Readiness for in vivo testing.
- Work on data collection system is pending:
- Tara will incorporate minor updates to data collection scheme.
- Robb will start working on the integration of orientation sensor.
- Ahmet has been interacting with the Medical Device Solutions at the Cleveland Clinic to oversee the design and manufacturing of fixtures to hold different ultrasound probes.
- Tammy ironed out some details on data collection and will provide detailed operating procedures for in vivo testing in the wiki.
- Also, refer to relevant discussions listed in the agenda item above.
- Work on data collection system is pending:
- Decide immediate action items for next meeting.
- See Immediate Action Items above.
- Other.
- Ahmet offered the vacant research engineer position to the candidate who recently visited Cleveland Clinic.
