Notes:
- Manuscripts update.
- Rici has been out of office. She submitted a draft of manuscript on indentation stiffness to Ahmet.
- Tyler will restructure ultrasound paper for Journal of Biomechanics.
- Tyler will submit the instrumented ultrasound paper to Journal of Biomechanics when documentation and edits are complete.
- Data dissemination update.
- No updates; Ahmet and Rici will be talking to Stanford University team next week.
- In vitro testing status.
- Surgical testing is ready to commence.
- Tyler will revisit tissue testing and related reproducibility trials. This time the experimentation will be simplified to obtain stress-strain response for a giving loading rate.
Modeling & simulation status.
- Sean has been developing specifications to select mesh density. Ahmet suggested checking edge lengths.
- Sean developed a handful of lumped models from different extremity regions. He will continue working on these models and extend to data from female donor.
- Ahmet has described various modeling strategies, different models that may result from these and calibration of models. At the simplest level template models extremity models with probe can be generated, secured at the bone, without considering gravity compensation. Even when provided at different mesh densities, these can be calibrated to experimental indentation response and can capture surface mechanics fidelity tuned to specimen and region specific response.
- Ahmet also discussed morphing strategies. He recommends simplified morphing focusing only to the central region.
- For layered tissue, two options are still on the table. One is explicit modeling of layer geometries, the other is their implicit representation by adaptive meshing and element-by-element assignment of tissue properties.
- During the meeting Ahmet and Ben had a phone call. Ben has started working at a remote location. He is trying to get SALOME work on his Windows laptop.
- Review of action items from past meeting.
- All action items were related to the agenda items; refer to discussions above.
- Decide action items for next meeting.
- See Ongoing Action Items above.
- Other.
- None noted.
