- Determine methods for sample preparation.
- Ahmet
- Review model assembly manuscript and return to Ben.
- Work with Sean on outline for lumped tissue model paper.
- Find Open Knee(s) skin, fat, and muscle samples for Ellen to test.
Notes:
- Manuscripts.
- Rici is still working on edits to the surgical tools data paper.
- Ahmet still needs to review the model assembly paper. Ben asked about one of the sections - layered and lumped models. Ahmet will clarify by e-mail for Ben.
- The in vivo indentation paper was accepted for publication. Ahmet received the proofs and Rici is working to review.
- Lumped in vitro models.
- Sean has completed the in vitro models and they are uploaded on in house data management system. They do not conform to the naming convention, but he will work on that. Next, he will work on an outline for this work. Ahmet suggested that he should give a presentation.
- Morphing for lumped in vivo models.
- Rici provided in vivo matched subjects for each of the in vitro cadaver specimen. Ben will work on morphing the in vitro models.
- Ahmet asked about segmenting the other cadaver specimen. He suggested maybe having Tammy work on this if she has extra time.
- Ben has performed some multi-layer morphing; Ahmet will review.
- Layered in vitro models.
- Sean was able to run Ahmet's model without skin. He was not able to open the output file, but the log file shows that it was completed.
- Ben tried to follow the combined mesh methods for layered modeling on the wiki, but had some problems, e.g.., self intersecting and non-manifold edges. The methods for this technique may work on a case-by-case basis.
- Rici suggested trying to use the adaptive meshing technique for coarsening the meshes instead of refining.
- Geometry file works well when using Ben's script to convert the mesh to FEBio, however the input file had to be adjusted manually.
- Tissue testing.
- Computing core has put the Biomomentum Mach-1 machine on the network after installing security software. They still have to check on the connection but it should be ready next week.
- Ahmet suggested that Ellen test the machine with rubber samples next week prior to starting with tissue. He also suggested to ask Snehal about evaluating test cases - she may have a protocol set up for this.
- Ellen feels that her methods are ready to go for tissue preparation and testing. Ahmet suggested to have Snehal review her methods and make any necessary adjustments.
- Recap of action items.
- The participants went over the action items.
- Other.
- Ahmet has not heard anything about the no cost extension yet.
