Ahmet Erdemir (Cleveland Clinic) 1. Craig Bennetts (Cleveland Clinic) 1. Joy Ku (Stanford University) 1. Henry Kwong (Stanford University) '''Agenda:''' 1. Progress on mockup interface development for results retrieval. 1. Update on WCB 2014 presentation. 1. Decide action items for next meeting. 1. Other. '''Immediate Action Items:''' * Stanford University (Joy & Henry) * Send Cleveland Clinic team a draft of WCB 2014 presentation. * Understand management strategies to establish quotas. * Cleveland Clinic (Ahmet & Craig) * Schedule a meeting between Open Knee(s) collaborators at WCB 2014. * Start preparing Open Knee - Generation 1 for cloud computing. '''Notes:''' 1. Progress on mockup interface development for results retrieval. * Job submission and results retrieval interfaces are in working order. Henry and Joy need to think about the infrastructure, particularly quotas to utilize the cloud computing before this feature is made available to general population. Henry will be attending to Amazon Bootcamp to learn about quotas for Amazon Elastic Computing. The team at Stanford University is planning to apply to XSEDE in the next round to acquire larger computing allocation. Quota structure to utilize that resource should also be determined. Understanding management strategies for quotas is an immediate need. * Currently, the models and scripts are installed by Henry; an administration interface is still needed to let others upload models and scripts to the cloud computing architecture. * Logistical and organizational issues need to be addressed before the pilot release of this feature. In the pilot release, cloud computing infrastructure for selected projects will be launched. The Cleveland Clinic team need to prepare Open Knee - Generation 1 for this. The team's other projects, e.g., for automated cell scale mesh development, also are candidates for the pilot release. The initial launch of the platform is expected to happen sometime during the fall. * Henry has started installing Anaconda Python distribution on the virtual machines. This distribution comes with all necessary libraries (!NumPy, !SciPy, etc.) for cloud computing. 1. Update on WCB 2014 presentation. * Joy has not outlined the talk yet. Nonetheless, the material she has seems to be sufficient. Joy will send a draft to Ahmet. In return, Ahmet can shape his talk in the FEBio session accordingly. 1. Decide action items for next meeting. * See Immediate Action Items above. 1. Other. * Ahmet will schedule a meeting with Joy and Jeff (and others in their groups) at World Congress of Biomechanics 2014. This will provide an opportunity to have face-to-face discussions between groups. * Ahmet informed Joy about some of the activities he has been involved on sharing of models through journal publications. Simtk.org has an interest to build relationships with publishers. The cloud computing framework currently developed for Open Knee(s) can be utilized in a general sense for this purpose.
