Recurring Meeting of Cleveland Clinic Core Team
Date: November 11, 2014
Time: 10:30 AM EST
Means: In person meeting
Attendees:
- Ahmet Erdemir
- Craig Bennetts
- Snehal Chokhandre
- Robb Colbrunn
- Tara Bonner
Agenda:
- Discuss immediate action items from the last meeting.
- Discuss oks002 testing/data.
- Decide immediate action items for the next meeting.
- Other.
Immediate Action Items:
- Ahmet
- Find information on robotics text book by Craig.
- Start accumulating information on the specifications page for modeling of joint kinematics/kinetics.
- Incorporate relevant specification updates from oks002 pages.
- Order new registration markers for femur and tibia manufactured by 3D printing.
- Snehal
- Order bone cement and other testing accessories for oks003 testing.
- Order two knees targeted to be healthy elderly male and female.
- Continue retesting of oks004 tissue samples also evaluating reproducibility.
- Provide soft copies of donor sheets (de-identified already) at in-house data management site.
- Tara
- Provide preliminary laxity plots for each specimen in relevant wiki pages.
Snehal & Tara
- Arrange retesting of multiple tissue samples for checking the usability of tissue testing specifications.
Snehal & Craig
- For oks002, continue providing information on joint imaging including notes, deviations, and team members.
Robb & Tara
- For oks002, continue providing information on tibiofemoral joint testing including notes, deviations, and team members.
Robb & Ahmet
- For oks002, continue providing information on patellofemoral joint testing including notes, deviations, and team members.
Robb & Tara
Provide documentation on SimVitro configuration files to extract registration and kinematics information (potentially requires few weeks).
Notes:
- Discuss immediate action items from the last meeting.
- Ahmet provided Snehal and Craig documentation on rigid body transformation matrices. This document was received from Jason Halloran. Ahmet will try to find the robotics book written by John J. Craig for more material on the topic.
- Ahmet pointed out the need to write a specification on processing of the experimental joint kinematics-kinetics information to feed models. A page on modeling kinematics-kinetics will be populated for this purpose. A test problem will be added to describe and evaluate the implementation. The test problem can be based on anterior-posterior laxity tests at 30 degrees flexion. This way, reproducibility of joint testing can also be explored.
- Ahmet implemented all specification change candidates listed in oks001 and oks004 wiki pages.
- Ahmet started a wiki page to list the team. He provided an entry to serve as a template. Ahmet also created wiki pages related to use cases and community projects. These are currently stubs and will be populated on a need basis.
- Snehal responded Tara's comments on specifications for mechanical testing of tissues.
- Snehal will continue testing of oks004 tissue samples. She will compare the data to previous testing information. Snehal and Tara will work together to retest tension and compression samples to check usability of tissue testing specifications.
- Majority of the deviations and notes from oks001 testing seems to be incorporated in the oks001 page.
- Discuss oks002 testing/data.
- Snehal provided sample MR images both for oks001 and oks002 specimens. During imaging of oks002, the orientation of the joint was backwards. This was noted as a deviation in imaging protocol. This is not a critical issue. Yet, for consistency, the team needs to pay attention during imaging of prospective knees.
- All are expected to update oks002 wiki page to incorporate all deviations and notes for anatomical imaging, joint testing, and tissue dissection.
- Review of oks002 laxity data did not show anything out of ordinary. Tara will add laxity plots in relevant wiki pages for oks002 and for other previously tested knees.
- Tissue dissection for oks002 was conducted without a physician. Snehal was able to dissect secondary tissues, e.g. semitendinosus tendon and medial and lateral capsular region.
- Decide immediate action items for the next meeting.
- See Immediate Action Items above.
- Other.
- Snehal needs to order two knees from healthy elderly donors. She will also order supplies, e.g. bone cement, for the next round of experimentation.
- Ahmet noted the possibility to create an Open Knee(s) entry in Wikipedia. He will follow up with this.
