    • Submit SB3C abstract on magnetic resonance imaging.
  • Snehal
    • Familiarize with Open Knee(s) - Generation 1 model.
  • Robb
    • Provide a copy of pivot shift robotics testing manuscript to Craig & Snehal.

  • Snehal & Craig

    • Provide photos for all specimens from cameras and personal devices.

Notes:

  1. Discuss immediate action items from the last meeting.
    • Ahmet updated specifications based on the oks003 and oks006 notes. Specifically, he corrected the number of points collected on registration markers to 10. He added the posterior placement of a femoral registration marker as an alternative. For patellofemoral joint testing, he detailed digitization of quadriceps line of action and joint coordinate system optimization. Ahmet drafted an outline for the pivot shift paper to be submitted to Journal of Knee Surgery. He committed the updated version of the Open Knee(s) - Generation 1 model. He also met with Craig and Tara about SB3C 2015 abstracts.
    • Snehal will get freezer keys soon. She provided MR images for oks006 in the relevant wiki page and sent forms to the tissue supplier acquire additional specimens.
    • Tara wrote a complete draft of the SB3C abstract on tibiofemoral joint testing.
    • Craig wrote a complete draft of the SB3C abstract on MRI.
    • Snehal and Craig still need to upload photos of experimentation. Ahmet provided all the photos he took with his personal device in the in-house data management system.
  2. Update on SB3C abstracts.
    • The group read, edited, and finalized SB3C 2015 abstracts on tibiofemoral joint testing and on MRI. Tara and Craig will submit these within the day.
  3. Discuss case study for Journal of Knee Surgery publication.
    • Ahmet went over the outline of the manuscript to be submitted by March 31, 2015. The overall goal is to illustrate the clinical use case of a knee model, in particular to evaluate the possibility for in silico reproduction of the pivot shift test.
    • Ahmet wants to base the work on the cadaver study recently conducted by the BioRobotics Core with Paul Saluan. Robb will share the draft manuscript on this work with Snehal and Craig.

    • Open Knee(s) - Generation 1 model will be used for the study. Snehal will get herself familiar with running simulations with it. Craig will work on post-processing scripts for extraction of joint kinematics-kinetics. Craig and Ahmet may need to meet to go over quaternion representation (utilized by FEBio to output rigid body movements), Grood and Suntay convention (aimed to be used for the model) and coordinate systems of data from BioRobotics Core.

    • Ahmet also went over the relevant wiki page and directory in the source code repository to use for this study.
  4. Overview of Open Knee(s) - Generation 1 model with FEBio v2 updates.
    • Ahmet described the model by going through individual sections of the input file, specifically the tolerance settings, loading and boundary conditions, and output requests.
    • Ahmet also mentioned the availability of a simple pre-processing script written in Python to easily change the loading and boundary conditions.
  5. Decide immediate action items for the next meeting.
    • See Immediate Action Items above.
  6. Other.
    • Snehal wondered whether new pressure sensors are an urgent need. Ahmet informed the availability of two brand-new pressure sensors and an unused one with a potentially faulty sensel (as observed during calibration). Purchasing of these sensors is not urgent for the upcoming oks007 testing.
