Ahmet Erdemir 1. Craig Bennetts 1. Snehal Chokhandre 1. Tara Bonner '''Agenda:''' 1. Discuss immediate action items from the last meeting. 1. Discuss oks007 testing plan. 1. Decide immediate action items for the next meeting. 1. Other. '''Immediate Action Items:''' * Snehal * Create specimen wiki page for oks007. * Send reminders for scheduling of oks007 testing. * Tara * Meet with Craig & Snehal to discuss robotics testing data on clinical pivot shift. * Tara & Snehal * Make sure all the supplies are available for oks007 testing. * Snehal & Craig * Read Robb's manuscript on robotics testing of clinical pivot shift. * Provide photos for all specimens from cameras and personal devices. * Craig, Snehal & Ahmet * Meet to discuss pre-processing of pivot shift robotics data for simulations. * Meet to discuss Open Knee(s) - Generation 1 post-processing. '''Notes:''' 1. Discuss immediate action items from the last meeting. * SB3C abstracts on tibiofemoral joint testing and MRI were submitted. * Many action items related to simulation of pivot shift test were accomplished. These were detailed below in the "Other" agenda item below. * Snehal and Craig still need to provide photos from their personal devices captured during previous experimentation. 1. Discuss oks007 testing plan. * The wiki page for the specimen needs to be created; Snehal or Ahmet can do this. * Imaging is scheduled. Snehal will follow up to confirm. She will also contact Jack Andrish to schedule dissection. * Workload and schedule for joint level testing was discussed. * Snehal will take knee out at 9:00 AM on Sunday (February 1, 2015) * Specimen preparation will start at 9:00 AM on Monday led by Tara (February 2, 2015) * The team will meet at 8:30 AM on Tuesday for imaging preparation led by Craig (February 3, 2015) * The specimen will be aimed to be ready for tibiofemoral joint testing (led by Tara) at 1:00 PM on Tuesday (February 3, 2015) * Ahmet and Robb will meet, early morning on Wednesday (7:00 AM) to start patellofemoral joint testing (February 4, 2014). Ahmet and Robb will prepare the sensor and conduct pre-testing calibration on Tuesday morning when others are at imaging (10:00 AM, February 4, 2015) 1. Decide immediate action items for the next meeting. * See Immediate Action Items above. 1. Other. * Ahmet wanted to discuss the progress on pivot shift simulations and development of a related manuscript. * Snehal is familiarizing herself with Open Knee(s) - Generation 1 model. She was able to run the default simulation in about two hours on her desktop. Ahmet mentioned that she may want to use multithreading capability of FEBio (using the environment variable OMP_NUM_THREADS) to utilize more computing cores and potentially expedite the solution. Ahmet also asked Snehal to use the Python script to change the loading scenarios and get accustomed to understanding Open Knee(s) - Generation 1 behavior under different loads. * Robb provided pivot shift loading data they use for robotics testing. Craig and Snehal will read the manuscript related to this data to familiarize themselves to pivot shift biomechanics, relevant literature, and the provided data. * Ahmet and Craig will need to meet how to pre-process the pivot shift data and post-process FEBio results, i.e. moving from quaternion based description of movement to clinically based description of joint motion. * Ahmet reminded all to check and update the relevant wiki page under the use cases (called Pivot Shift) and the area in source code repository under apps folder (called Pivot Shift). * Ahmet also mentioned that he has started talking to some candidates that can join the Open Knee(s) project in the upcoming summer. In a wiki page (see CommunityProjects), he listed a bunch of small projects that require development of tools to process data for modeling and simulation. Ahmet asked team members to contribute to this list if they realize another need for data analysis and modeling. * Craig and Snehal started to look at joint kinematics-kinetics data collected on Open Knee(s) specimens. They will like to meet with Tara to confirm organization of robotics data, particularly the TDMS files. * Snehal has had some problems with tissue testing system (Mach-1, Biomomentum, Inc.). The system crashed in multiple occasions during tensile tissue testing and when image capture is on. Snehal later tried to reproduce the problem with foam samples and other tissue types. System worked without an issue. The team suspects that the latest system crash may be related to operating system update issues, yet this needs to be verified. * Snehal ordered all the remaining knee specimens to complete total Open Knee(s) sample size to 10. The team is awaiting the specimen supplier to find a knee from a young male donor.
