Recurring Meeting of Cleveland Clinic Core Team

Date: April 7, 2015

Time: 10:30 AM EST

Means: In person meeting

Attendees:

  1. Ahmet Erdemir
  2. Craig Bennetts
  3. Snehal Chokhandre
  4. Robb Colbrunn
  5. Tara Bonner

Agenda:

  1. Discuss immediate action items from the last meeting.
  2. Discuss potential manuscripts development.
  3. Decide immediate action items for the next meeting.
  4. Other.

Immediate Action Items:

  • Snehal
    • Evaluate high-speed ramping capabilities of Mach-1.
    • Continue working on references for the pivot shift manuscript.
    • Contact imaging facility to schedule imaging sessions for the next three months.
    • Start wiki page on the use case for kinematics driven mechanics of cruciate ligaments.
  • Ahmet
    • Start wiki page on the use case for convergence optimization.
    • Provide specifications for de-identification and dissemination of image data.
  • Ahmet & Tara

    • Meet to acquire anatomical landmarks from Open Knee(s) - Generation 1 model.
  • Snehal & Craig

    • Evaluate optical tissue thickness measurement strategy against contact based measurements.

Notes:

  1. Discuss immediate action items from the last meeting.
    • Ahmet needs to provide Tara anatomical landmarks probed on the model. Ahmet and Tara setup a meeting for Thursday to acquire points together. In following, Tara will provide pivot shift trajectories updated to reflect improved agreement between model and experiment coordinate systems.
    • Ahmet needs to meet Craig and Snehal to go over running Open Knee(s) - Generation 1 model at Cleveland Clinic's high performance computing system. They setup a time to meet on Thursday to accomplish this. They will also discuss parameters to improve convergence.
    • Snehal has continued on evaluating Mach-1 mechanical testing systems ramping capabilities. She will work on this activity in the upcoming week.
  2. Discuss potential manuscripts development.
    • Snehal has been reading literature on pivot shift for inserting references.
    • The team informed Robb about the plans for development of manuscripts on experimentation. He will be working on the patellofemoral joint testing publication.
    • Team members have not started drafting manuscripts on experimentation yet. Ahmet informed that while these activities do not necessarily need immediate attention, contributions each week will accumulate to tangible documents for submissions for publications.
    • Ahmet has submitted the alternative to Journal of Knee Surgery. The study summarizes Open Knee(s) - Generation 1 work.
  3. Decide immediate action items for the next meeting.
    • See Immediate Action Items above.
  4. Other.
    • Ahmet asked team members about their summer schedule. Testing of the remaining four knees should be conducted when everyone is available. Based on the team members tentative schedule the following weeks were identified for experimentation:
      • May 4-8, 2015
      • June 1-5, 2015
      • June 29 - July 3, 2015
      • August 10-14, 2015
    • Snehal will schedule imaging based on the tentative summer experimentation timeline.
    • Snehal noted that the down time for experimentation can be used to catch up with other projects. She proposed to return back to evaluation of optical measurements of tissue thickness.
    • Ahmet reminded the team that he will be working on the progress report during the week. The report is due April 15, 2015.
    • Ahmet informed the group that he has committed to three summer students so far. Most will start by the end of May and work until the beginning of August.
