Ahmet Erdemir 1. Craig Bennetts 1. Snehal Chokhandre 1. Tara Bonner '''Agenda:''' 1. Discuss immediate action items from the last meeting. 1. Continue discussion on large-scale analysis of simulation parameters for FE model convergence. 1. Decide immediate action items for the next meeting. 1. Other. '''Immediate Action Items:''' * Ahmet * Follow up with !SimTk.org about the possibility to activate repository browsing. * Send manuscripts by Dhaher on ACL reconstruction to Snehal. * Start progress report for Advisory Board meeting. * Craig * Follow up with computer updates for summer students. * Robb & Tara * Provide brief documentation on tdms file contents (groups & channels). '''Ongoing Action Items:''' * Ahmet * Dissemination of joint mechanics testing data. * Detail image segmentation specifications. * Craig * Anatomical imaging manuscript. * Scripting for large-scale analysis of simulation parameters for convergence. * Snehal * Pivot shift manuscript. * Cruciate ligament modeling & simulation. * Evaluate alternative tissue testing strategy. * Robb * Patellofemoral joint experimentation manuscript. * Conversion of patellofemoral joint contact pressure data to ASCII format. * Tara * Tibiofemoral joint experimentation manuscript. '''Notes:''' 1. Discuss immediate action items from the last meeting. * Snehal started to fill in the wiki page for cruciate complex compartmental model. Ahmet will send her manuscripts by Dhaher on modeling of ACL reconstruction. In a related matter, the links to Subversion repository does not allow vieweing repository folders within the web browser. Ahmet will contact Stanford University team for enabling online source code browsing. * Snehal is getting accustomed to FEBio by solving examples. She has started framing the test model for probe-based tissue thickness measurements. * Ahmet reviewed the draft document on Mach-1 performance issues and desired features. Snehal submitted the document to Biomomentum, Inc. Martin Garon responded by noting that he has updated the software to set acceleration and deceleration for move commands (ramp displacement). He also noted the availability of a separate software to tune controller settings; this software is already installed with our system. * Robb still needs to provide documentation on tdms file contents. Tara will help. * Craig and Ahmet met to discuss post-processing of FEBio log files to extract convergence information. Craig implemented a script to summarize convergence of individual simulations and to rank a set of simulations based on various convergence metrics. * Ahmet disseminated MR images of all six specimens at the project website. He noted about the file naming convention reflecting the DICOM series name, essentially providing backtracking. He is waiting for documentation of tdms file contents to work on the dissemination of joint mechanics testing data. * The remainder of ongoing activities did not have any considerable progress. 1. Continue discussion on large-scale analysis of simulation parameters for FE model convergence. * Craig conducted simulations with a combination of iteration settings, in particular max_retries and max_refs. A set minimizing computation cost for passive flexion was found. This information needs to be summarized in the wiki page of the relevant use case. * The next step is to evaluate how a given set of simulation parameters behave when conducting simulation by loading different degrees of freedom individually. For this purpose simulations will be conducted for * flexion angles of 0,30,60,90 degrees * anterior/posterior forces of -100 N, 100 N (at each flexion angle) * internal/external rotation moments of -5 Nm, 5 Nm (at each flexion angle) * varus/valgus moments of -10 Nm, 10 Nm (at each flexion angle) 1. Decide immediate action items for the next meeting. * See Immediate Action Items above. 1. Other. * Ahmet informed the team that he has met with the high school student for development of Python scripts for image based thickness measurement. * Craig has been compiling software list for computers that will be used by the summer students. He will contact system administrator at the Cleveland Clinic for installation of Linux on all computers designated for student use. * Ahmet mentioned Yasin Dhaher's visit to Cleveland Clinic. This is planned for May 8. Yasin is a member of the Open Knee(s) Advisory Board and has been involved with finite element analysis of the knee for some time. Team members were encouraged to meet him.
