    • Cruciate ligament modeling & simulation.

  • Robb
    • Patellofemoral joint experimentation manuscript.
  • Tara
    • Tibiofemoral joint experimentation manuscript.

Notes:

  1. Discuss immediate action items from the last meeting.
    • Ahmet needs to continue on updating wiki pages on segmentation and geometry generation. He uploaded experimentation photos for oks009 and oks008 to the in-house data management system.
    • Craig described his additions to wiki page on segmentation. He reorganized the headers and sections to focus on different procedures and the outline of general segmentation process. Ahmet requested him to put sample images on this wiki page for anyone using the specifications understand the workflow and expected outcomes.
    • Craig provided the MR images of oks008 in the in-house data management system. He needs to upload sample images on the oks009 specimen wiki page.
    • Snehal added citations for tissue property papers. She informed the group that this will be an ongoing process as she finds more about additional studies.
    • Snehal ordered the harddrive for providing imaging data to Carl Winalski. She uploaded dissection photos of oks009 to in-house data management system. She sent a request to AGR (specimen supplier) for another specimen from a young male donor.
    • Tara is still working on scripts to properly transfer configuration data from tibiofemoral joint testing to patellofemoral joint testing.
    • Robb uploaded the joint mechanics data for oks009 to in-house data management system. He still needs to provide all robot force transducer specifications in the infrastructure page on joint mechanics.
    • None of the group members had a chance to work on the data manuscripts. In response to Tara's request, the group decided a deadline (January 12, 2016) for the first complete drafts.
  2. Discuss tissue testing protocol evaluation progress.
    • Snehal summarized her progress in developing a Python script to analyze the tissue testing data. At this moment, the script plots various ramp components of a trial. The group discussed the next steps for Snehal to implement in the tissue testing data analysis script, specifically to assemble ramp and relaxation parts of different strain levels and to find instantaneous and equilibrium moduli.
    • Snehal needs to follow up with Robb for assembly and testing of higher resolution load cells on the Mach-1 mechanical testing system.
  3. Decide immediate action items for the next meeting.
    • See Immediate Action Items above.
  4. Other.
    • The group discussed oks009 related post-experiment activities.
      • Ahmet got the task for dissemination of oks009 imaging and joint mechanics data. For dissemination of imaging data he uses a Python script to convert DICOM files to NIfTI. He went over this script, which is located in the source code repository.
      • Tara will provide sample laxity plots on the oks009 wiki page.
      • Post-experiment calibration of pressure sensor needs to be confirmed.
    • Craig asked for learning material for nonlinear constitutive modeling. Ahmet recommended a book by Bonet and Wood - Nonlinear Continuum Mechanics for Finite Element Analysis. Jason noted that he utilizes this book at Clevaland State University for training.
    • Will developed Python code using VTK for visualizing movements of coordinate systems based on Grood and Suntay conventions. The group discussed that this script can be usefull for kinematically driven visualization of experimental joint mechanics. Additional work needs to be done to process anatomical landmarks and registration marker data to relate imaging coordinate system (therefore bone geometries) to experimentation coordinate systems.
