Recurring Meeting of Cleveland Clinic Core Team

Date: December 22, 2015

Time: 10:30 AM EST

Means: In person meeting

Attendees:

  1. Craig Bennetts
  2. Tara Bonner
  3. Robb Colbrunn
  4. Snehal Chokhandre

Agenda:

  1. Discuss immediate action items from the last meeting.
  2. Discuss tissue testing protocol evaluation progress.
  3. Decide immediate action items for the next meeting.
  4. Other.

Immediate Action Items:

  • Ahmet
    • Continue working on accumulating segmentation and geometry generation specifications.
    • Disseminate oks009 joint mechanics data.
  • Craig
    • Add pictures to image segmentation specification documentation.
    • Provide sample MRI on oks009 specimen page.
    • Prepare main specimen table for manuscript. This will be used in all manuscripts.
    • Copy MRI DICOMs and NifTI files to external hard drive for Carl Winalski.
  • Snehal
    • Add rate and duration calculation to the python script to complete item 3 in tissue testing protocol evaluation.
    • Complete items 5,7,8 and 9 of tissue testing protocol evaluation.
  • Tara
    • Continue filling in the manuscript in response to reviewed list of paragraphs and figures and tables for imaging data manuscript.
  • Robb
    • Continue working on paragraphs for the remaining sections of the patellofemoral joint testing manuscript and add a list of figures and tables.

Ongoing Action Items:

/!\ DEADLINE FOR FIRST COMPLETE DRAFTS FOR DATA PAPERS IS JAN 12, 2016 /!\

  • Ahmet
    • Prepare flowcharts to describe data flow for pre-processing of joint kinematics/kinetics data.
  • Craig
    • Anatomical imaging manuscript.
    • Large-scale analysis of simulation parameters for convergence.
  • Snehal
    • Add citations and summaries to tissue data papers to the wiki for potential use to model tissue properties.
    • Work on Python scripting to process tissue testing data.
    • Pivot shift manuscript.
    • Cruciate ligament modeling & simulation.

  • Robb
    • Patellofemoral joint experimentation manuscript.
  • Tara
    • Tibiofemoral joint experimentation manuscript.

Notes:

  1. Discuss immediate action items from the last meeting.
    • Ahmet and Craig will continue to complete the assigned items.
    • Snehal modified the python script to assemble ramp and relaxation parts of tissue testing data.
    • Snehal also checked the new load cells to make sure they are working properly.
    • Tara, Robb and Craig will continue to work on their manuscripts.
    • Craig will copy the MRI DICOMs and NifTI files to the external hard drive to give to Carl Winalski for tissue quality assessment/ cartilage grading.
    • Craig has also been working on building 3D joint geometries using Meshlab. After a thorough assessment of the software capabilities, he has concluded that Meshlab does not provide enough control over STLs and has started exploring tools provided by Blender (free CAD software).
  2. Discuss tissue testing protocol evaluation progress.
    • Snehal confirmed calibration of the new load cells with Craig.
    • She will work on items 5,7,8 and 9 from tissue protocol evaluation before moving on to repeatability tests.
    • The computer of OTMS was delivered and Snehal will get the OTMS assembly working.
    • Snehal and Craig dissected the test knee and prepared needed samples.
    • Snehal will modify the python script to find rates applied and duration during each ramp to check whether the Mach-1 system can apply the expected rates.
  3. Decide immediate action items for the next meeting.
    • See immediate action items above.
  4. Other.
    • Robb wants to verify his contact pressure analysis with the script Diana wrote.
    • Robb ran contact pressure analysis for specimens (oks): 1,2,3,4,6,7. Results are in: app/PFJExp/sol/ in the repository.
    • Need to compare: contact force, contact area, peak contact pressure with the outputs of Diana's scripts for pressure data analysis.
    • CompareAnalysis.xlsx file contains arrays for each set of value at all flexion angles and quad forces.
