  • Evaluate force-displacement curves of repeated unconfined compression testing of cartilage sample.
  • Continue providing quantitative information in conclusions sections of tissue testing evaluation page.

Notes:

1. Discuss immediate action items from the last meeting.
   • Ahmet will review all data manuscripts together after completion of the full draft of the patellofemoral joint testing manuscript.
   • Ahmet did not have a chance to work on sample images for geometry generation specifications nor generated raw surfaces for oks001 tissues.
   • Snehal has been evaluating uncertainty in mechanical estimation of reference displacement state for comparison of tests conducted in different days, i.e., through "find contact" command. She tested rubber and cartilage, without removing sample from the machine, and reported consistent measurements. Ahmet noted that she may do the tests after removing the sample and placing it again on the machine, without zeroing displacement. This may cause variability in reference zero force displacements. He also asked Snehal to quantitatively compare force-displacement data of the same sample from different days, i.e. by shifting one data set in displacement axis and calculating the difference between forces. If the signals are the same, i.e. as Jason noted as the same spring being tested, the difference between forces should vanish in one of the displacement shifts. Snehal will follow up. She will also continue documenting her latest efforts to evaluate tissue testing protocols.
   • Robb was not able to attend the meeting. His action items will be reviewed in the next meeting.
   • Jason has been working on the background for the patellofemoral joint testing manuscript. He recognized work conducted in recent years, which will be relevant to the article. He will summarize these as part of the background for a more comprehensive review of patellofemoral joint biomechanics.
