  3. Other.

Immediate Action Items:

Notes:

  1. Presentations by summer interns.
    • Raghav gave a presentation on camera based tissue thickness measurement system he has developed. The presentation included theoretical and practical aspects of the system. Ahmet considered Raghav's system as a well packaged product. He asked Raghav to provide the presentation in the wiki. Raghav noted that the source code is already in the repository. Ahmet also recommended a possible submission of a conference abstract related to his work. Robb advised Raghav to create a separate project page at SimTk to disseminate the source code and promote the tool.

    • Connor presented his work on segmentation, comparison of geometries, and scripting with Python and Meshlab to automate geometry smoothing and comparison. All the scripts are in the repository. Connor will continue working on segmentation and possibly conducting simulations to explore the influence of geometry uncertainties on mechanical predictions.
    • Ahmet mentioned William the possibility to present his summer work as well. William will do it in the following week.
  2. Segmentation update.
    • Connor will segment the patella for oks002 and oks001. He will also segment the femoral and tibial cartilage for both specimens.
    • William segmented all the registration markers. He needs to become a team member at Open Knee(s) project to be able to push them into the repository. Ahmet provided access to William as a read-write team member.
    • Tara raised her concerns about meniscus segmentation. She was using cartilage imaging. Ahmet recommended that she may want to utilize other image sets as well, e.g. soft tissue imaging including multiple planes. This may help recognize the tissue boundaries better.
  3. Other.
    • Snehal has been on vacation. Action items from the past week will be discussed after she comes back.
