For tendon testing, Snehal explored repeatability at lower strain rates (1%/s) with pre-conditioning done at 0.5 Hz. Sample length at 10 gf after pre-conditioning seemed to increase between tests. Pre-conditioning data are irregular. Ahmet advised focusing on getting pre-conditioning right. Ahmet also recommended looking at the frequency response of the pre-conditioning data.   * For tendon testing, Snehal explored repeatability at lower strain rates (1%/s) with pre-conditioning done at 0.5 Hz. Recurring Meeting of Cleveland Clinic Core Team

Date: December 13, 2016

Time: 10:30 AM EST

Means: In person meeting

Attendees:

  1. Ahmet Erdemir
  2. Snehal Chokhandre
  3. Tara Bonner
  4. Will Zaylor (Cleveland State University)

Agenda:

  1. Discuss immediate action items from the last meeting.
  2. Discuss progress of tissue testing protocol evaluation.
  3. Discuss segmentation progress.
  4. Decide immediate action items for the next meeting.
  5. Other.

Ongoing Action Items:

  • Ahmet
    • Complete reviewing the drafts of data manuscripts.
  • Snehal
    • Continue filling in the dashboard for tissue testing reproducibility.
  • All
    • Continue segmentation based on commitments listed in the Roadmap.

Notes:

  1. Discuss immediate action items from the last meeting.
    • Most action items were related to the ongoing agenda items; refer to discussions below.
  2. Discuss progress of tissue testing protocol evaluation.
    • Snehal summarized the status of tissue testing to Will. She noted that she is planning to start cartilage testing in January.
    • For tendon testing, Snehal explored repeatability at lower strain rates (1%/s) with pre-conditioning done at 0.5 Hz. Sample length at 10 gf after pre-conditioning seemed to increase between tests. Pre-conditioning data are irregular. Ahmet advised focusing on getting pre-conditioning right. Ahmet also recommended looking at the frequency response of the pre-conditioning data.
    • For tendon testing, Ahmet recommended to try to fix the sample directly to head rather than using the current multiple peace clamp arrangement.
    • Snehal looked at the meniscus testing literature. Reported test rates were usually lower. She will test meniscus at lower rates to see if repeatability improves.
    • Snehal moved all cadaver tissue samples to the third-floor freezer in the Department of Biomedical Engineering.
  3. Discuss segmentation progress.
    • Nothing to report.
  4. Decide immediate action items for the next meeting.
    • See Ongoing Action Items above.
  5. Other.
    • Ahmet informed Will about Ben's work on automated mesh generation, set definitions, and mesh assembly. He may want to check it out.
