Re: Explorer very slow
Has anyone found a solution to this issue? I have had something similar going on. For the last year or so this issue would only happen when I logged on to my company's VPN while working remotely. Whenever I was in the office, the issue would go away. The last few days the slow GUI file navigation ha...

Re: MATLAB crashes when trying to run visualizer
Update to this: It appears to be something to do with the MATLAB working directory. The same script either works or fails depending on whether or not the working directory is on my external hard drive. This behavior occurs for both OpenSim 4.3 and 4.4. I'd appreciate any ideas on why this behavior i...

MATLAB crashes when trying to run visualizer
I have a MATLAB script that has worked for me in the past to visualize my models, but has stopped working. I'm not sure if this is due to upgrading to OpenSim 4.4 (from 4.3) or an issue caused by software updates from my IT group. Whenever I try to set up a state variable after setting the model to ...

Re: Different Static Optimization Results with Differing Start Times
Thank you for your reply! I was able to get it working. Filtering was not the issue, as I am filtering the data before segmenting it. The issue was in my code that segmented the kinematics. My code was writing a file flagged for being in degrees instead of radians. The only reason the data was so cl...

Different Static Optimization Results with Differing Start Times
Hi Everyone! I have a fairly long inverse kinematics file that I am running static optimization on. I was able to get static optimization to run the whole kinematics file, but it took a long time. I have been experimenting with segmenting the kinematics file into smaller periods of time and running ...

IMU Correction Heading
Can anyone provide a more clear description of how to use the IMU correction heading, and how it works? Should I be specifying the IMU and IMU axis that most closely aligns with the forward direction? Is it the IMU axis before or after the global rotation is applied? The documentation says that the ...

Passive Elements Misbehaving in Joint Reaction Analysis
Hi everyone, I have been using the dynamic neck model (https://simtk.org/projects/neckdynamics) for joint reaction analysis. I discovered a while back that the bushing elements that were used to represent passive stiffness in the cervical spine do not work correctly during static optimization. I bel...

MATLAB Executable
Hi everyone! I have been working on a MATLAB app that calls for OpenSim simulations. I have found that I can package the app and run it from MATLAB (with OpenSim previously configured). I would like to know if any of you have successfully packaged a MATLAB app as a standalone executable (using the c...

Re: Minimize Initial or Final States
Thanks Aaron and Christopher. I am interested in performing forensic analysis on falls from height. I am hoping to be able to input constraints, such as initial height and landing location/orientation, and solving for a most probable initial posture/speed. I am theorizing that minimal joint speeds w...

Minimize Initial or Final States
I am just getting starting with MOCO. I am impressed with the large range of problems that can be solved with the existing goals. It might just be that I do not know how to use it well enough yet, but I am struggling to find a way to minimize initial or final states. I would like to include the init...
