General Questions

The following questions were received from Rodrigo Andre Bonacho Mateus <rodrigo.mateus@ist.utl.pt> I have performed previous works in musculoskeletal modelling before, however this is the first time I am analyzing crouch gait and I came across your project and the subsequent articles you published....

Re: Weighting Synergy Activations

Just like static optimization, synergy optimization minimizes the total sum of activations squared. However, while in static optimization all actuators are weighted equally, in synergy optimization you can provide a weighting constant in front of each actuator or group of actuators. So you are minim...

Synergy Optimization Webinar: Q&A Responses

Thank you all for joining the webinar and engaging in our discussion of how we can improve modeling of neuromuscular control in OpenSim. Since we did not have time to get to everyone’s questions, I’ve posted short responses below. Please don’t hesitate to post comments/questions on the discussion fo...

Re: Using muscle weighting constants in Static Optimization

Hi Felix, We modified the OpenSim source code in order to weight the activations for Static Optimization. This was just about the time when the transition from OpenSim 1.9.1 to 2.0 occurred which involved a lot of changes to the underlying code and the weights were never integrated with the new sour...
