Re: MocoInverse vs MocoTrack

Hi Ana, That all sounds good. I would go back to my previous message and start by just making sure that the model with muscles has the capacity to generate the same motion (potentially by including the full strength torque actuators from the torque-driven problem). Another thought: assuming you have...

Re: MocoInverse vs MocoTrack

Thanks Ana, I think I still don't quite have a full understanding of the problem setup and model configuration, but it's starting to sound like it could be something regarding the model constraints that you have, and how you are setting up the problem. Here are a few more thoughts/questions: Do you ...

Re: MocoInverse vs MocoTrack

Hi Ana, Happy to try and help a little. Based on your descriptions it could be good to clarify a few things about your problem setup, as well as working definitions for the different tools. MocoInverse problems are typically going to be problems were you have some kinematic information that you woul...

Re: Inverse dynamics results

Hi Mahshida, Could you provide more info on the problem, for example, what time range are you attempting to run ID on? And what model are you using (it was not provided in the materials that you shared)? Based on your data, you ran IK over a range that includes time where the subject was in-contact ...

Re: Help with Collision Bodies

Hi Andrew, In order to help debug, it might help to see the model file that you are working with, including the edits and additions that you have made. Just double checking, you are able to load the model with 1) the ContactHalfSpace for the ground, 2) the ContactSphere for the skull, and 3) the con...

Re: NEED HELP WITH DATA PREP

Hi Christopher, Here are a couple of thoughts based on your description: 1) This could depend on your project goals. There are a number of different .osim models that the research community has tested and used. You can check many of the out on the following page, and feel free to mix and match model...

Re: Model Scaling - non-physiological position of foot

Hi Claudia, Based on the first image, it seems like the right foot is okay, and that the issue is with the left foot? A couple of thoughts: What are your goals for the project, and is there a reason to use the same generic foot in the model rather than something more specific to your participant or ...

Re: How to add a torque as a function of the joint angle and angular speed

Hi Kuang, Based on your description it sounds like an ExpressionBasedCoordinateForce could be what you are looking for. It allows you to specify the coordinate that the force should be associated with, and then provide an expression that includes the joint angle (q) and velocity (qdot). For a made u...

Re: Typical nMTL in gait - sources of data for comparison

Hi Emma, This could depend on the speeds that you are looking at in your study. Perhaps you are looking for something along the lines of Edith Arnold's 2013 paper that includes plots of normalized fiber lengths across different gait speeds. https://journals.biologists.com/jeb/article/216/11/2150/114...
