Re: Neck movement missing DOF
Thank you for your reply! I will consider the addition of those joint (plural!) in the future!

Neck movement missing DOF
Hello, I noticed that in the model the head cant move independently, it moves the entire head with the neck region (c1 to c7), I was wondering if there will be an updated model than includes that missing DOF or not. Also if I add a joint that would allow such DOF would that affect the validation of ...

Re: Am I doing my analysis correctly?
Thanks a lot Jacob this definitely helps in making sense of the results now, but one final question; would each posture need a specific actuators file to append to? or would one work for all. I've also noticed that you have changed the optimal force for elv_angle_r was that on purpose or was it a mi...

Re: Am I doing my analysis correctly?
The px py pz values are obtained from the location of the markers, so for example on T3 the three points on the left are symmetrical with the three points on the right of the spine. Pz in this case is placed away from the spine to the left and right but in a symmetrical manner. If you look at T3_1_p...

Am I doing my analysis correctly?
Hello, I have been using this opensim model to simulate the human-body seat interaction. The way I run the simulation is using static optimization. Where my motion file is the seated posture of the model, the actuators have been appended to support the pelvis and allow it to stay in place. The exter...

Static Optimization results
Hello, I ran a static optimization on the model, with a motion file to show a seated posture, external forces applied to the back to represent the forces a seat would be exerting on the human body. The actuator forces were appended by having a 1000N limit for the pelvic region. After running the Sta...

Re: Inquiry to the methodology used to develop the model
Ill try to see how it goes with changing the actuators optimal force!
Thank you for your help and sorry for the inconvenience!

Re: Inquiry to the methodology used to develop the model
Thanks for the quick reply, so if I increase the optimal force of all the actuators to 1000 for example would that solve the problem?
I know the motion file is symmetric because I put 0 for everything except pelvis tilt.
Best Regards,
Obidah

Inquiry to the methodology used to develop the model
Hello, I was running static optimization on the model, with a motion file that has a 40 degree pelvis tilt (sagittal plane), and after looking at the forces in the muscles I noticed that the left and right muscle forces are very different, for example levator scapulae Right was way higher than left,...
