Re: Average metabolic cost calculation using CMC
Hello Thomas for my research I am using the gait2392 model. I used the gait10dof18musc model only because it is used in the example and I want to get a deeper understanding for the metabolic cost research. I've read the API, the Umberger2010MuscleMetabolicsProbe Class and the related research topics...

Re: Average metabolic cost calculation using CMC
Hi Thomas, can you relate to my irritation? Do I still have an error in my consideration? Could you maybe share the code you used to derive the data from your work "Simulating Ideal Assistive Devices to Reduce the Metabolic Cost of Running" from the CMC output? That might help me build a better unde...

Re: Average metabolic cost calculation using CMC
Thank you very much for your answer. However, I am still puzzled. Based on your answer I've executed CMC for unassisted gait again nut, I've set the probe operation of the metabolic probe to "integrate". Which seems to be the easiest way to integrate the metabolic cost over time. Hope that is right?...

Average metabolic cost calculation using CMC
Hello, my question refers to the example Simulation-Based Design to Reduce Metabolic Cost . I try to understand the output of metabolic probes and how to process adequately. I've followed the guideline step by step. I haven't changed the CMC configuration which is provided in walk_Setup_CMC.xml, and...

Re: Editing .sto file in Excel
Hi Zakia, Two suggestions which might solve the issue: 1. If dot is not the system standard as decimal separator of your operating system. In Excel, go to File > Options > Advanced > uncheck "Use system separators" and enter . as decimal separator and , as thousands separator. 2. Use tab delimited s...

TorqueActuator configuration for CMC
Hello, I have some understanding question regarding the configuration of a torque actuator for CMC. I've added a TorqueActuator to the hip using Matlab (see code below). leftHipTorqueActuator = TorqueActuator(pelvis,femur_l,zAxis,false); leftHipTorqueActuator.setOptimalForce(10); leftHipTorqueActuat...

Re: Scripting assistive device
Dear Thomas, Thanks for your answer. My intention was to model a structure in OpenSim that represents an ideal exoskeleton (as shown in the attached picture). Next, I wanted to attach torque actuators to points A, B, and C. My assumption was that the actuators should reduce the load on the muscles i...

Scripting assistive device
Hi there, I would like to research the impact of different kinematic chains of assistiv devices with respect to their reduction of metabolic cost. Basically I will follow the method of the example " Simulation-Based Design to Reduce Metabolic Cost ", but with the difference that I would like to mode...

Re: Just downloaded 4.3 - interface fonts are microscopic
If OpenSim doesn't open after changing the opensim.conf you have and error within your .conf file. Please find the full content of my opensim.conf below, which works on Windows 10: # ${HOME} will be replaced by user home directory according to platform default_userdir="${HOME}/.${APPNAME}/4.3" defau...
