Re: SO and EMG results differ.

Thank you for your reply.

I would like to try the suggested methods.
I will report back if there is any improvement.

Best regards.

SO and EMG results differ.

Hello, every one. I am currently investigating muscle activity during bicycle use. As a problem, the results calculated by SO compared to actual EMG are different. This is particularly noticeable in the gastrocnemius muscle, which is a bi-articular muscle near the knee joint. Floor reaction forces a...

Match the CMC and EMG data.

Hello, I am university student.

I would like to know more about how to match CMC and EMG data.
I know you use "Actuator Constraints", but how do you adjust them?
How do I adjust it? Also, when I use it, is the accuracy guaranteed?

kind regards.

Re: How to apply external force

Thank you for reply.

Is this possible with a single axis force sensor?

Kind regards.

How to apply external force

Hello, I'm new to Opensim.

Unit N
0 153.8696714
0.001 154.2095977
0.002 154.7130869
0.003 155.2535554
0.004 155.2820011

This is part of the force you exert when you pedal your bicycle.
How can we apply this data as an external force to the model?

Reading a force sensor in one axis

How can I read a force sensor in one axis?
The units are newtons. Perform a static optimization to measure the muscle tension.
Place a force sensor on the pedals of a bicycle and measure the muscle tension during pedaling.

Re: The load from the pedals during pedaling exercise

Thank you for reply Mr. Carmichael. My lab only have the data obtained from motion capture. https://youtu.be/4TMWHgjjd8A For #1, how do I create an external load file? In the tutorial, it looks like you are just editing a file that originally exists. For #2, does that mean adding actuators or muscle...

Re: How to apply a load to a specific body part.

Thank you for reply, Najoua.

Is it only possible with "StaticOptimization" ? Is there any other way?

How to apply a load to a specific body part.

Hello.
I am currently researching how bicycle pedal load can affect rehabilitation.

So, what is the best way to apply force to the sole of the foot only?

If you can imagine adjusting the load with an ergometer.

This is my ergometer motion.

Kind regards.

The load from the pedals during pedaling exercise

Hello, I am studying ergonomics at university. I am currently using Opensim to study the amount of muscle power exerted in the pedaling motion of a bicycle. And I am having trouble with the setting about the pedal load during pedaling exercise. I would like to apply a force from the pedals when I st...
