Hi,
Sorry I have a question regarding how joint angles are calculated using the least squares equation.
1) If no coordinate is specified, how are the virtual marker data converted to joint angles?
Thanks,
Vignesh

Re: Opensim vs Moco optimization algorithm
Hi Nick, Thank yoi. I shall do that. Out of curiosity: 1) Would there be a difference in residual errors calculated using MOCO and IK? From another post, IK uses different solvers based on the constraints and coordinates such as LBFGS, LBFGSB method and IPOPT. There hasnt been any information on how...

Re: Opensim vs Moco optimization algorithm
Hello Nicholas,
Thanks for your response.
If my focus is just on marker residual errors, would there be a difference between IK and MOCO results? For example, if I do not provide grf data.
Thanks
Vignesh

Re: Inverse Kinematics...implementation
Hi, I am sorry to reopen this issue but I am looking into residual errors and would like to understand the optimisation algortihms further. Specifically the comments made by Ajay: "It would be interesting to know whether or not the marker errors are the same. Have you compared marker errors?" 1) Has...

Opensim vs Moco optimization algorithm
Hello, Hope you are doing well. I have a question regarding the optimization algorithm applied in moco vs opensim. 1) Is there a difference and if yes, what are the key differences? 2) Would the differences affect the residual error being calculated? Additionally, in the documentation, it was mentio...

Re: Segmental kinematic optimisation
Hello Ton, Sorry to disturb but I have a question regarding the IK process. Specifically, I am interested in the residual error of the IK process, whether using SVD or using global optimisation. I would like to know: 1) How are the joint angles determined when we use global optimisation such as appl...

Regarding marker location is osim and IK
Hello, I have a question regarding marker placement/location is osim model and IK. I am trying to build a simple model using scripting and would like to know how to determine the location of markers on each body segment. In the osim file, the marker locations are provided in the anatomical reference...

Question regarding FreeJoint
Hello, I modified the Rajagopal model so that the hip joint is a free joint. the only modifications I made were to change the joint type ,add 3 translations and relate them in the spatial transform section of the osim file. But flexion of the hip is being shown as hip rotation(as shown in the figure...
