Rajagopal 2023 RRA fail
Hi, I am trying to perform a RRA tool on the last Rajagopal model (RajagopalLaiUhlrich2023). For this I've taken the same setup files that I use for a gait2354, in this case the RRA tool works perfectly, adding the corresponding coordinate actuators, task (CMC joints) and control constraints, as lon...

Re: Markers on OpenSim 4.5
You can also edit the model markers opening the .osim file with a text editor as Notepad++
there you can edit name, position and body to attach the markers
there you can edit name, position and body to attach the markers

Re: Is it possible to perform inverse dynamics analysis in OpenSim without using force plates?
Hi Catarina I have gone through the literature I have found and as you say they all refer to walking test. In my research work I'm studying stance positions, but don't use EMG sensors and when I have tried to predict the GRF the response has been to make feet-ground contact models. One solution that...

Re: Is it possible to perform inverse dynamics analysis in OpenSim without using force plates?
Hi Catarina, From my experience I would say that perform inverse dynamics without GRF is not feasible for a lower limbs analysis. Maybe you could estimate the forces from the EMG measures and the weight, I have read something about that kind of process. Another longer and complicated way to do that ...

Re: Predict GRF in standing position
Hi Nick,
Thank you for the help, I will try to reconsider the problem as obviously using constraints does not seem to be a good way to proceed.
Best,
Adrian

Re: GRF Prediction
3) Add a constraint of the foot with the ground to obtain the generated forces. This case is only valid for studies where the foot is not moving (doing squats, evaluating balance, weight lifting, etc). It seems this is technically correct, but it's very tricky to deal with in practice. So the first...

Predict GRF in standing position
Hi everyone, I'm working on a study about balance and I want to know if there is a way to predict the GRF. In most cases people create contact models between the feet and the ground, but it seems to be complicated. I've seen some studies that try to predict the GRF during squats using simplified sin...

Re: Inverse Dynamics: Muscle forces without GRF?
I am predicting GRF and GRM during squat lifting. The feet are static during lifting, so I built a weld constraint between each foot and the ground and the weld point is not at the CoP because I do not know where is CoP. I successfully got a set of forces by inputting the motion data to 'Analyze' t...

Re: How to pass an excel to .sto for use in opensim
Hi Lidia, If it is just to make a test I usually make a copy of any sto file, then open it with Excel and replace the information (copy -paste) of your original Excel document and save it, but not with the "save as..." command, just overwrite the file. After that, you can change the name of the file...
