Re: Transition perdiod coordinate limit force

Thank you very much for your reply! I have attempted to use the source code to write a MATLAB script for determining the CLF at a prescribed angle (attached below). I get the following results: CLF.png I'm uncertain whether I have correclty implemented the simmspline function and the CLF transitions...

Transition perdiod coordinate limit force

Hi, I have a question about the transition period of a coordinate limit force. How is the transition from zero to constant stiffness described? I want to know the stiffness at a specific coordinate.
Any help is much appreciated.

Effect of locking DOFs

Hi, I'm trying to mimic an experimental in vivo study in which intraarticular measurements in the wrist joint were collected during active wrist flexion-extension movements. Since the fingers are not actively participating in this movement, is it acceptable to lock the DOFs of the finger joints in t...

JRA joint location

Hello everyone, This is probably a very easy question but I would like to be sure I understand it correctly. I'm using a FD simulation with a JRA. I used the following settings to check whether the forces on two adjacent bones are equal and opposite: settings - Copy.JPG This is the case, however the...

Solve for equilibrium for actuator states

Hello,

Could someone explain the implications of setting the "solve for equilibrium for actuator states" flag to true or false?

Is it correct that the flag should be used as follows:
- SO: false
- CMC: true
- JRA based on the results of SO or CMC: false

Kind regards,
Pauline

Re: Solve for equilibrium for actuator states

Thank you very much for your reply! I have taken some time to read all posts concerning the "solve for equilibrium for actuator states", however, I am still confused. Is it correct that the flag should be utilized in the following manner: - SO: false - CMC: true - JRA based on inverse dynamics outpu...

Solve for equilibrium for actuator states

Hello, Is it correct that the "solve for equilibrium for actuator states" in the Analyze tool should be selected when performing a joint reaction analysis based on muscle forces predicted by SO or CMC? Could anyone shed some light on the implications of selecting or not selecting this option, or dir...

CMC with JRA

Hello everyone, I'm reaching out for some guidance on utilizing Computed Muscle Control (CMC) and Joint Reaction Analysis (JRA) to assess the resultant force acting on the proximal row and radius during a maximum grip strength exercise. I came across a tutorial where forward dynamics (FD) was employ...

Re: pendulum model

Thank you very much for your reply! I still have a few questions about what you mentioned. Could you clarify what you mean by the models being "often too tight"? Also, I'm currently working with the ARMS Lab Hand and Wrist model and I'm curious about the resulting force on the radius when the wrist ...

pendulum model

Hi everyone, I'm new to OpenSim and I have a few questions about this simple pendulum model: Fig 1.png I'm using SO and CMC to determine the muscle forces necessary to keep the pendulum in a static neutral position (see figure 1). The muscle placement is completely symmetrical and each muscle has th...
