Hello!
Could anybody explain me a simple way that I could crop a C3D file using the extraction toolbox? Perhaps with an example on that might help me adapt the code to batch process several files?
Thanks!

Change color of ground reaction force in GUI
Hi all, Does anyone know if you can change the color of the ground reaction force in the GUI? I'm trying to overlay two subjects with their on top of each other to give a visual comparison of their motion. I can change the body segment colors but the ground reaction force stays green. Thanks in adva...

Re: Extract Muscle Force Vectors (Lines of action)
Thanks for your suggestion Ton van der Bogert. I think your approach would work for a static pose or 1 time instant but I am trying to extract the muscle line of action over an entire gait cycle. The muscles I'm interested in have both moving attachment points, which vary with knee flexion angle, an...

Extract Muscle Force Vectors (Lines of action)
Hi all, Does anyone know a way to extract muscle forces as 3D vectors i.e. lines of action in the lab reference frame since muscle forces calculated in OpenSim are magnitudes? A previous post suggested using a PointKinematics Analysis to extract the origin and insertion of a muscle and drawing a vec...

RE: Model lifts off during Inverse Dynamics
<t>Hi Ayman,

Thanks for your reply.

The motion looks fine when I load it in the GUI. I'm using the OpenSim 2.2.1.

It may be an issue with the modification I made to the Gait2354 model. The torso has been split into more bodies but for testing purposes, I have welded...

Model lifts off during Inverse Dynamics
<t>Hi all,

When I run inverse dynamics on my model, the model lifts off the ground and then floats randomly in space.

I'm wondering if anyone knows what could cause this to happen.

I also ran inverse kinematics and the motion and the location of the ground reaction ...

Maximum-height jumping (Dynamic Optimization)
<t>Hi all,

I was wondering if OpenSim currently has a feature to perform dynamic optimization of maximum height jumping.

This has been done previously but not in OpenSim. The reference to the paper that perform this simulation is below:

Anderson, Frank C. and Pandy, ...

RE: WeldConstraint vs. WeldJoint vs. LockingJoint
<r>Thanks Ayman for the clarification!

I also noticed a similar post where the author claimed that moments calculated from ID and SO were different between using a weldjoint and locking a custom joint.

https://simtk.org/foru...

WeldConstraint vs. WeldJoint vs. LockingJoint
<t>Hi all,

I am fairly new to OpenSim and modeling in general and was wondering if anyone could tell me the difference between a WeldConstraint, a WeldJoint and Locking a joint. In particular I would like to know how it would impact Inverse Dynamics results.

To give some contex...

Multi-Coordinate Coupler Option?
<t>Hi all,

I was wondering if there was an option to couple more than one dependent coordinate using the CoordinateCouplerConstraint.

To give some context, I am trying to couple the flexion-extension of the lumbar spine to the flexion-extension, lateral bending and axial rotat...
