How to output total body COM
Hello all, I am using the full body opensim model to model certain aspects of aircraft ejection, and total body COM is very important parameter to the simulations. After I scale my model, how can I check that the total body COM matches my subjects. I have data for total body COM of my subjects seate...

unrecognized string error when importing SIMM model
Hello all, I am trying to import a simple SIMM model into Opensim, but I keep on getting errors saying the text in the header of my .jnt file is unrecognizable. The jnt file was made on SIMM 7.0a11, and after line 6 which contains "name amputeeWalkingModel", there are other similar strings on lines ...

Analyze tool failing every time
Hi everyone, I am trying to run the Analyze tool with an actuation analysis so I can look at actuator (joint) power, but the tool continually fails. I am looking at experimentally recorded data. Within the GUI I specify an inverse kinematics .mot file for my inputs. I do not have controls. Under the...

Forward simulation without CMC and GRF's
Is there a way to use the kinematics of the torso to drive a forward simulation of arm swing? Here is why I ask... My lab is interested in studying the differences in arm swing kinematics between normal human gait and arm swing that is completely passive, i.e. arm motion that is only the result of m...

Inverse Kinematics fails part way through
Hi all, I am using the inverse kinematics tool on a number of motion trials I have collected, and two are failing part way through the IK calculations. In one trial, the subject just walks back and forth along a straight line for about 23 seconds. The other trial is the same except the subject is jo...

Re: Models will not reopen after editing markers and saving
It must be a computer problem on my end then. When you said they loaded without any trouble, I tried loading them from an external hard drive where the files were copied, and they loaded in 3.0 and 3.0.1 just fine. They still will not load from the C: drive properly, but for what reason is beyond me...

Re: Models will not reopen after editing markers and saving
Hi Ayman, Thank you so much for your help. I have attached both the edited and saved model that will not open, and the original model that I started with. I'm not sure if I made this clear, but the model that will not open is NOT a new model that had been scaled by the scale tool and created in Open...

Models will not reopen after editing markers and saving
Hello everyone, I have some full body models that were created in v2.4. I have been able to open these models in v3.0 and scale them successfully. However, when I look at my marker error and make the proper adjustments to the virtual markers and save the model, the next attempt at scaling gets stuck...

Re: Big problems with scaling
I was doing this in version 2.4. I installed 3.0 and this problem did not occur. Thanks for your input. At least you know a potential problem from 2.4 has been taken care of in 3.0.
