Do NaN values affect Inverse Kinematics Solution?
Hi For some of my markers I have large sections of position data missing. Is it alright to set the marker positions at these points as NaN or will that add large errors to the other markers on the model during Inverse Kinematics? Would it be better instead to remove such markers from the simulation ...

Static Optimization - Performance
Hi All I'm running Static Optimization on a dynamic side-step trial and I get this warning in the message window for certain time-points: time = 0.204 Performance =1413.67 Constraint violation = 8.84439e-005 Thelen2003Muscle::computeForce, muscle med_gas_r force < 0 at time = 0.204 Thelen2003Muscle:...

Re: Scaling - Run button greyed
Hi Cobus The GUI usually does that when there is an error in one of your XML files. This usually shows up in red when one of the files hasn't loaded or there is a syntax error etc. Everything seems alright on the settings tab, check that your Scale Factors and Static Pose Weights are all loading cor...

pErr Definition
Hi I wonder if someone could help clarify something for me regarding the pErr output, I can't seem to find any documentation on it in the User's Guide. I originally presumed that it represented the instantaneous position error (i.e. the difference between the calculated coordinate values from RRA an...

Re: OpenSim 3.1 - Specifying log file location
Hi David
I managed to get around it by toggling between working directories using the cd command in MATLAB. That way I can run the Tools from the same directory and the log files are always updated there. It's not ideal but it works!
Thank you for your help.
Cheers
Shaun

Re: OpenSim 3.1 - Specifying log file location
Hi David Thanks for the input, that's pretty much what I'm trying to do. I can copy the 'out.log' file to another name, but I still don't have permission to delete the original. So, when I run the following iterations, it just appends to the end of the original log file (even though my current worki...

OpenSim 3.1 - Specifying log file location
Hi there I am implementing a Forward Dynamics pipeline in MATLAB, using the new API. Is it possible to change the location of (or even periodically clear/delete) the 'err' and 'out' log files when working with multiple models and motion capture trials? When I start my code, the log files appear in t...

Re: RRA Starting Point
Hi Ayman Thanks for your help, that makes a little more sense to me. Just one last question: if I only have force plate data for one foot's contact with the ground, would the optimization algorithm struggle to compute torques and controls for the reserve actuators at points in the simulation for the...

RRA Starting Point
Hi There I'm working on applying motion capture of a side-step maneuver to an edited version of the 2392 model. I've just got a question regarding the starting point of the RRA Tool. I've noticed that, when I start at a particular point in time (close to or during foot contact with the force plate) ...

Re: Ligament Class - Trouble Scaling
Hi Ayman
Thanks for the advice, I've got it to work now. I'll be sure to file a bug report.
Kind Regards,
Shaun
