Re: excitation vs. activation
Hello, My name is Matt Millard, and I'm a post-doc at OpenSim. I've written the new muscle models you'll find in OpenSim 3.0 (Thelen2003Muscle, Millard2012EquilibriumMuscle and Millard2012AccelerationMuscle), and I'm working on a faster simulating muscle for the next release. I'll intersperse my res...

Re: Tendon elastic energy
Hello, Static optimization uses a rigid tendon muscle model exclusively, so none of the results using this tool will yield results that include tendon stretch. If you'd like to see how the tendon is stretching you will have to use CMC and one of the muscle models with an elastic tendon to compute yo...

Re: Force-length-velocity curve, API
Hello Natalia *********************************** Q1: When do you think the corrected muscle >model will be accessible for the OpenSim users? *********************************** This is a top priority for us, so we're working quickly to correct the muscle models and thoroughly bench mark them. *****...

Re: Force-length-velocity curve, API
Hello Natalia, I just started here at OpenSim, and one of my first tasks was to benchmark the muscle models. The first one I've tested was the Thelen2003 model, and like you I found that the force velocity curves were different than the published paper. We're presently testing out an implementation ...
