CMC foot floor/ground interaction

Hi there, Can someone please clarify what foot-floor interactions are used in the standard CMC forward dynamics step? There is a description in Thelen & Anderson (2006) (p.1110, paragraph after equation 6) which describes linear translational and rotational spring-damper elements but I cannot find a...

Re: CMC activations differ with same data

Hello, I still seem to be getting this problem. More recently I have been trying to eliminate mid-stance tib_ant activation in my CMC data "caused" by ankle_angle acceleration "ringing" (see https://simtk.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=91&t=5051&p=12476#p12476) and have been getting different activation...

Re: Unstable ankle_angle coordinate

Hi James, Thanks for your reply. Following your advice I tried reducing the <cmc_time_window> parameter from the default of 0.01s to four increasingly smaller values (0.009, 0.0075, 0.005, 0.001s). The smallest value chosen as this matches the default value for RRA. The effects on both the ankle_ang...

Re: Unstable ankle_angle coordinate

So I just ran CMC using the example data supplied with the OpenSim 3.0 installation (C:\Program Files\OpenSim 3.0\Models\Gait2392_Simbody) and there appears to be the same problem - mid-stance tibialis anterior activation caused by noisy ankle (and subtalar/MTP) coordinate angles/velocities/accelera...

Unstable ankle_angle coordinate

Hi there, Have been running CMC on normal walking data using gait2392 (with subtalar and MTP coordinates locked). All seems to be working well apart from unexpected activation of the tibialis anterior (and other dorsiflexors) during mid-stance. On investigation it appears that the is some unstable a...

CMC activations differ with same data

Hi there, Can anyone explain why I seem to be getting different muscle activations from CMC when I run exactly the same data twice? I have been running normal walking data through the CMC tool using the gait2392 model (with locked subtalar & MTP joints). My intention is to compare the differences in...

RE: animating ground forces and muscle forces

Hi Ayman,
The workaround you suggested worked - thanks.

RE: animating ground forces and muscle forces

Has this been fixed yet in version 2.2?
Thanks,

RE: Problem of rotated model after scaling

<t>Hi Sylvia,<br/> It was the BothLegs.osim model (one of the example models supplied with OpenSim) that I edited. I copied the pelvis_tx,ty,tz coordinates from another model (gait2392). This involved inserting the <coordinate> and matching <TransformAxis> code into the Pelvis section of the model's...
