Forward Dynamics vs Analyze Tool

Hi everybody, I'm quite new about OpenSim and I'm using it to explore the effect of various muscle parameters on the height reached with a squatjump. I've prepared some models .osim with different muscle parameters: for each one do I have to execute the 'Forward Dynamics' tool or the 'Analyze' one? ...

Re: Quadriceps force

Hi James,

however by plotting the column relative to the quadriceps force of the CMC output file "*_Actuation_force.sto" as a function of time is a correct way, isn't it?

Thanks a lot!

Quadriceps force

Hi everybody, I'm quite new about OpenSim and I'm using it to determine the force exerted by the femoral quadriceps during a squatjump. Do I have to execute mandatorily the CMC tool (with its high execution time) and refer to the CMC output file "*_Actuation_force.sto" or is there another faster met...

Re: Total fiber-force

Hi James, By plotting the quad_fem force (that is a column of the CMC output file "*_Actuation_force.sto") as a function of time, I obtain the same figure got selecting the CMC output "*_states.sto" as X-Quantity (the first figure above). I'm analyzing the movement of the squatjump and I don't know ...

Re: Total fiber-force

Hi James, thanks a lot for your precious help! I know it's a bit confusing, now I try to explain better. I need to plot the force of the quadriceps (is it the fibre-force of the model or the actuator force outputed from the CMC?)! So I don't know if I must refer to the first graph (when I select the...

Re: Total fiber-force

Hi Ali, thanks a lot for your help! I'm plotting the total fiber-force from the OpenSim Plotter, obtaining different results depending on what I select as X-Quantity. Particularly, you can see the two plots obtained selecting as X-Quantity the CMC output "*_Kinematics_q.sto" and the CMC output "*_st...

Total fiber-force

Hi everybody, I am trying to understand the performance of the 'total fiber-force' of different muscles. I've observed, by OpenSim Plotter, that the 'total fiber-force' of a muscle completely changes if I select as X-Quantity the CMC output "*_states.sto" file instead of the CMC output "*_Kinematics...

Re: Performing Inverse Dynamics via Matlab API

Hi Alice,

looking at your final script about ID, I don't understand which parameters I must give to the tool "ExternalLoads" to let it working.
I'm referring especially to the input parameter 'genericExtLoadFullPath'!

Could you help me?
Thanks a lot.

Best regards,
Cosimo

Re: Automation of the dynamic simulation

Hi James, thanks very much for your reply. Watching the TutorialThree I managed to let my script to work as intended. Now I'm trying to do the same process through Matlab, but I don't have any output results (in the folder CMCResults) from the CMC tool. I've tried with the command "printResults", bu...
