OpenSim haptics support
Dear OpenSim experts and developers, I would like to find out if there is open-source support for OpenSim interaction with a haptic device (can be a basic 6 DOF stylus device). It appears that SAI (Simulation and Active Interfaces) could be a way forward, since it links with Chai3D, but I'm not find...

Updated Call for Papers for Modeling and Simulation in Medicine - March 14
Dear members of the OpenSim community, the deadline for Modeling and Simulation in Medicine is pushed back to March 14, in part to give time for an encouraging trend in the pandemic to play out and encourage reluctant authors to take part. Papers featuring Work in Progress will also be accepted. See...

Re: Just downloaded 4.3 - interface fonts are microscopic
Thanks, Ayman. I'll give these a try. I have a workaround now, in that I am using my 17" ASUS Studio laptop to give my class, but it's good that we have a solution that I can apply to my new 13" Dell, which has exquisite resolution after all. Edit: the second method seems to increase the font size o...

Just downloaded 4.3 - interface fonts are microscopic
Dear members of the community, I just downloaded OpenSim 4.3 for Windows and installed it on my laptop, to demonstrate it tomorrow in class... only to find the fonts in the interface to be microscopic. How do I adjust the default font size? I cannot find the parameter... because, you know... the fon...

Can an OpenSim model be made to fall?
Dear members of the OpenSim community,
I am interested in causing an OpenSim musculoskeletal model to fall, by tripping it or causing it to slip. Is such a scenario possible under OpenSim?
Best wishes,
Michel

Can OpenSim model be made to fall?
Hello,
I am interested in using OpenSim to simulate falls in a musculoskeletal model. Is it possible to trigger a fall in a realistic manner?
Best wishes,
Michel

Re: WARNING PATH too long installer unable to modify PATH
I saw this as well with 3.2.
Edit: I can verify that 3.1 loaded without any problems, and seems to be able to load the Gait Model 2354.

Re: downloading opensim for linux and using python
Hi James, the reason that I decided to opt for Linux was that when I tried to load the binary, it was complaining about Please resolve the following: A newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable has been detected on the machine. As well as a java-related error message. which suggeste...
