RRA on pelvis

Hello, I have a quick question concerning RRA. Normally it should be used on torso to reduce residual but I am simulating tennis serve and not gait and I was wondering in my case if it would make sense to do it and as well if it would no be better to do it on the pelvis instead torso. Does anyone ha...

Hello James,

Here is the article. It's on page 4. Thanks for looking at it.

optimal fiber length and pennation angle change with time

Hello, I have found that the optimal fiber length is changing according to the activation level of the muscle, which in turn makes the pennation angle at optimal fiber length change as well. I found the relations used to calculate these in an article and I was wondering if there was any way of incor...

Re: tuning of reserve actuators

Hello James,

Thank you for your answer. The problem is I already did that and I still have some reserve actuators that are too high, so should I then increase the max isometric force of the corresponding muscles in order to decrease the use of the reserve actuators ?

Cheers,

Fred

tuning of reserve actuators

Hello everbody, I'm still having trouble to figure a way to work with the residual and reserve actuators and I have read somewhere that I shoud penalize the reserve more in the plane I am confident with. However I don't understand what they mean by penalize. Does it mean I should set a high optimal ...

Re: anormally high passive forces

Hello Emil, thanks again for answering. I am not sure however of what you suggest concerning the k shape factor that should be increased in order to lower the passive force. I really tried to understand how this passive shape factor is working and I reach 2 conclusions: 1) no matter the value of K, ...

anormally high passive forces

Hello, Does anybody know of a way to increase the max isometric force of the muscles without affecting the passive forces values ? Because when I just increased the isometric value then when I did a muscle analysis I found passive muscle forces impossibly high. I don't know why these passive forces ...

Re: Flen muscle parameter change for young subject

Ok so from what I understood, It has been chosen that at 1.5 * optimal fiber length, the passive force should be half of the max isometric force and that's why you need a k of 4. I think because we do not have any data on the individual passive force for each muscles used in the lower limb model, th...

Re: Flen muscle parameter change for young subject

Hey thanks again for all the information. However I still don't get it how you made to chose the value for kpe. How did you know you could choose 25, because you would need to have already some value for the passive force to compare with and that is not really possible, is it ? In my case at least I...

Re: Flen muscle parameter change for young subject

Hello Emil, Thank you very much for all these informations. However it seems that the pdf where you explain the method for the passive factor calculation is not in the attachement or am I mistaken ? Would you mind sending it again ? I mean this file "second one with the method for calculations of th...
