Output files from RRA to be used in other tools
Hello all, I am trying to better understand the flow of files from tool to tool. From my understanding, Scaling -> IK -> ID -> RRA -> CMC -> Analysis My questions: What files from RRA will be I be using during the CMC tool? Is it better to use the RRA produce files or the CMC given files? What is th...

Re: Scaling procedure
Hello, I would like to scale a model which has no virtual (pink) markers defined. On the other hand, I have a static .trc file with 41 experimental markers. Even though I have read the guide and some forum posts, I cannot get an idea of how to do this. Hi Ana, Try these videos. They might help answ...

Differences between Static Optimization and CMC?
Hello! What are the main differences between Static Optimization and CMC? In what scenarios would using one be better than the other? In which tool can we import EMG? For example, the project I am working on is using OpenSim to find the knee joint contact loads during ergometer rowing, using EMG dat...

Importing a CAD Model Into OpenSim
Hello!
I am working on analysis of Ergometer- rowing using OpenSim.
Could someone help me understand the full potential of OpenSim for importing CAD models?
My goal is to import a CAD model of our Ergometer to act as a constraint to the model.
Thank you!
Kathleen

Re: How to can change the axis origin and orientation?
Hey Kathleen, When you preview experimental data, you will not see a model at all. Depending on whether it is a marker (trc) file or a GRF (mot) file, you will see only the markers or GRF (green arrow) when you play the file after it has been loaded. The error you have mentioned can, in my experien...

Re: How to can change the axis origin and orientation?
Hi Kathleen, You can try this in the OpenSim GUI: 1. File > Preview Experimental Data > Then select your relevant trc file (or mot files for GRFs). In the view window, you should now be able to see your experimental marker motion. 2. In the Navigator window, find "ExperimentalData_0" and click the ...

Can I use Load Cells with Torque Actuators
Hello all,
I will be doing experiments with a load cell in the handle bar chain of a rowing ergo-meter.
I was wondering if I use a model where the arms are only torque actuated, will there be any issues using the force data produce by the arms during the rowing motion?
Thank you!

Re: How to can change the axis origin and orientation?
I think I have a similar question! I am working with Cortex which captures our data in a different orientation. To transform into OpenSim we are going into the files and changing the Z values into the Y columns, and Y values into -Z columns. The X is the same for both OpenSim and Cortex. Is there an...
