Static Optimization of selected degrees of freedom
I have a model that has several joint with three degrees of freedom each. I would like to know if it is possible to leave some degrees of freedom unlocked (so that they can still move) but then not solving for them in the Static Optimization analysis. For example, could I allow the forearm to rotate...

IndAccPI for foot contact forces
I am trying to use the IndAccPI plug-in with an OpenSim model to define how the ground reaction force vector should be split into 5 distinct force vectors on each foot. This would be according to the foot contact model described in Dorn et al., 2012 and included in the IndAccPI plug-in. However, the...

Re: Static Optimization and Ligament Object
I have had a similar problem to this. When I run static optimization on a lower limb model (without any ligaments) or CMC on the same lower limb model (without any ligaments or with a single ligament) it runs with no problem. However, when I run static optimization on the lower limb model (with the ...

Static Optimization results
I have a musculoskeletal model of the shank and foot. When I load the motion file (included below - attachment of files is not allowed by the forum system) the model performs pronation. However, when I run the Static Optimization tool selecting that same motion, the result is the whole model rotates...

Single leg model
When I try to import the single leg model to OpenSim: File -> Import SIMM model... -> select jnt and msl files there is an error (see below) and the model doesn't import. Has anyone else come across this error or found a solution? Joint walker_knee cannot be converted to OpenSim because it contains ...

Re: Error 'estimating joint loads in OpenSim' tutorial/examp
Hi Bel,
Thank you, yes that looks correct. The hip joint centre in ground moves up and down with the gait cycle, whilst the other joints (e.g. hip in femur) remain constant.
