Re: CoordinateCouplerConstraint

Hello Pasha, I'm coming back to study MOCO for my simulations ... catching the train late this time ... The CoordinateCouplerConstraints really do the trick with you don't mind the constraint forces that will appear. Nowadays I'm getting by without using them because my jumps tend to go higher if th...

Re: exampleSquatToStand- MocoPeriodicityGoal

Does the solution have non-zero controls for the coordinate actuators? That is possible, though seems unlikely. I've had issues before where the GUI couldn't find muscles that weren't placed under the "ForceSet" tag in the .osim file. Ross Ross! Just an update, I think I found out why the GUI Analy...

Re: exampleSquatToStand- MocoPeriodicityGoal

Hello Nick and Pasha, Thanks a lot for the feedback. I think there are some nice crossroads from what I'm trying to do, what Nick showed with the piece of code, and what Simon Jeng did in the other forum topic with his own MocoFrameOrientationConstraint . For specific research questions, we will nee...

Re: Synergies and Spasticity in OpenSim Moco

Hi Russell, I had to stop looking into it to focus on other simulations. I had no improvements on it. I tried to couple the excitation to the muscle speed but with no success. In desperation, I limited the range of the muscle excitation to a "big minimum" (0.8) and we could predict the patient's imp...

Re: exampleSquatToStand- MocoPeriodicityGoal

Hello Pasha, In the same rationale of what you pointed out, maybe in the future where multiple controllers could run alongside Moco trajectory optimization, this could be implemented. Until that, I simulated the jump with the previous "constrained" result as a guess and got an "ok" solution. The mov...

Re: exampleSquatToStand- MocoPeriodicityGoal

Hi Ross, The solution has controls between the min_control and max_control values, there are no NaN values. For analysis what is missing is multiplication, but it is still weird. Later on, I will run the analysis outside the GUI and compare the results. The values for the contact forces were generat...

Re: exampleSquatToStand- MocoPeriodicityGoal

Hi Pasha! Thansk a lot again! You are totally right. I was not familiar with this behavior of the constraint forces. I ran a quick "Analyse" in the OpenSim GUI and got some results. data.PNG First, there is some kind of optimization of the head height during the jump. The graphs show that the center...

Re: exampleSquatToStand- MocoPeriodicityGoal

Thanks Ross and Pasha! All the support on the forum really helps! The video is awesome. And opens a subject for another time about the motion of the limbs to compensate the center of mass parabolic motion. I was not able to create the "finalMarkerGoal" goal using the center of mass position, so I us...

EUREKA! https://www.linkedin.com/posts/carlos-gon%C3%A7alves-6509a724_opensim-activity-6878703526495698944-N-M7 After some days of tuning, I got the first jump and a simulation that converged. Still need to work on the "final time" goals and the usage of contact spheres, but is a useful result. The ...

Re: exampleSquatToStand- MocoPeriodicityGoal

Thanks a lot for the feedback Ross. And I agree with the "simulation learning curve". There are millions of ways to go wrong (with an error), some that go frustrating (with undesired motion), and a few where it works and you soon start the process over again after a celebration with a mug of coffee....
