Re: Simulations never converge
Thanks a lot Pasha, that is something that I should try next. This approach is way better than setting everything to random, . After I sent the message yesterday, I thought of another approach (but I have never done it): 1- get a converged motion from a simpler motion with a model with markers...

Re: Simulations never converge
Ross and Pasha, thanks a lot for the answers. Really appreciate it. @Ross, since the begging, I started my solver settings using the examples. I started with 1e-04 for convergence and constraint (2D gait examples), then reduced both a little bit to 1e-03, and finally I'm trying to use your settings ...

Simulations never converge
It has been close to one year of learning and running Moco, but to be true, I never got it converging before running out of iterations. I was only able to get it right running the examples. There are some guidelines to it? I already tried in 2D and 3D walking, and also in rowing (https://www.linkedi...

Re: Visualizer is afraid of model
Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts Aaron. Predictive simulation is an ocean of doubts sometimes. Your comments follow my first experience with predictive simulation of 3D gait. I studied a patient gait and managed to get some really good results in both tracking and predicting. "Some say, the mo...

Re: Visualizer is afraid of model
Hello everyone, I just searched this forum entry right now because my models also started to be afraid of the screen. For me was the case of really scary GRFs ... (the contact spheres are magically going under the floor) Ross, if you still have a problem with the STL, maybe check it using Meshmixer ...

Re: Is MOCO CPU agnostic?
Hello Pasha! This is indeed a fascinating subject, especially if someone needs to buy a new computer (like myself). To add on the mix. I was able to use another computer at my lab remotely. Here is the comparison: Model: rowing model (upper and lower body) with 2D motion and 18 muscles and five actu...

Re: Predicted GRF and Inverse Dynamics
Sorry for jumping late in the discussion, but something that I used a lot to compare RRA results to CMC is use the Muscle Analysis inside the "analysis" task. This post helped me a lot to make it work inside Python https://github.com/opensim-org/opensim-core/issues/2076 I always set the tool to calc...

Nice Nick! Thanks a lot!
I will check the references and post here any developments about this subject.
Best regards.

Re: Is MOCO CPU agnostic?
Thanks a lot for the explanation Dr. Umberger. I will soon get access to a more powerful machine at my lab. I will give it a try and post the results here. I will definitely look at the parfor version in Python. Most of my planning nowadays is organizing the multiple simulations to run at night and ...

Re: Is MOCO CPU agnostic?
Excellent discussion. Especially that my rowing simulations with metabolic goals are during 8 hours in my old laptop https://www.linkedin.com/posts/carlos-gon%C3%A7alves-6509a724_opensim-activity-6787713360721960961-c88F Dr. Umberger, any suggestions on how to run these parallelizations in Python? B...
