Re: Orientation Tracking Setup

I am tracking IMUs with Moco and have attached a example file which might be helpful for comparison. (It is normally a .sto but changed to a .txt to attach. ) The header is: DataRate=2000 DataType=Quaternion version=3 OpenSimVersion=4.4 endheader time /bodyset/torso/torso_imu_offset /bodyset/pelvis/...

Re: Foot Ground Penetration

Hi Nick/Aaron, I have removed the rolling surface constraint but am still finding the frame constraints between the toes and ground and calcaneus and ground appear to still not be adhered to in some simulations as shown. Screenshot 2023-06-26 100657.png Alternatively, I was wondering if the floor in...

Re: Foot Ground Penetration

Hi Nick, Thanks for your input, I will try again without the rolling-on-surface constraint. I am trying to track IMU signals for 6 subjects running at 3 different speeds, aiming to use the same parameters for each and achieve kinematics consistent with Mocap. At the moment I am finding my approach s...

Foot Ground Penetration

I am having problems getting my model to start above the ground. I have generated a suitable guess/starting position with the scaled model. A rolling surface constraint, as well as a distance constraint between the toes and calcaneus and the ground (minimum value of 1e-10 in the vertical direction) ...

Re: Different weighting factors for each axis?

That sounds great thanks Nick, I don't think this should be crucial for my project at this point but will let you know if that changes, or if you do implement this in a future build/update please let me know!

Re: Different weighting factors for each axis?

Thanks Ross, yes I don't think that is an option for IMU signal related goals but would be very useful for GRF tracking!

Different weighting factors for each axis?

Hi there, I was wondering if it would be possible to have different weighting factors for tracking goals in the x/y/z axes? In my case when tracking IMU signals I am having more success with a 2D model tracking signals with the OpenSim z axis components set to 0, so am considering whether reducing t...

Thanks Nick!
I will keep an eye on the Github/look out for your update.

Orientation reference file

Hi there, I am trying to track IMU orientations and have tried to write an .sto rotations file manually to set as a refererence using setRotationReferenceFile as I understand setting a rotation table directly is not implmented in MATLAB yet. Is this possible and if so what is the correct file format...

Re: Fabricating and tracking IMU signals

Just an update if others are interested! With some help from Nick I have been able to add in the angular velocity tracking by copying the xml code from the OpensimXML browser into the .omoco study file and manually adding in the file/frames to track. However loading the study in MATLAB results in th...
