Segmental Inertial Parameters

I recently submitted a paper to a journal detailing an evaluation using Delp's base lower extremity model ('Delp, S.L., Loan, J.P., Hoy, M.G., Zajac, F.E., Topp E.L., Rosen, J.M.: An interactive graphics-based model of the lower extremity to study orthopaedic surgical procedures, IEEE Transactions o...

Residual Forces and Squat Exercise

I have been using OpenSim for about a year now, and have been analyzing squat exercise using motion capture and GRF data. I have been able to run the Inverse Dynamic Tool with no problem. However, I cannot get the Static Optimization Tool or the RRA Tool to solve. I was using Gait2354 model, but hav...

RRA and residual forces with weight lifting

<t>I am doing an anlaysis of persons performing squat exercises using about 80kg of load. When I look at residual loads at the pelvis, they are rather large. If I run and RRA analysis (I am using Arnold's 2 legs + torso model scaled to my subject), I get reductions in mass of most segments to about ...

Static Optimization Problem

<t>All,<br/> I have an issue with trying perform a static optimization on a motion. I have collected motion capture and force data during a squat exercise, and have used the gait2354 model sucessfully with scaling, inverse kinematics, and inverse dynamics. I am now interested in obtaining muscle for...

RE: Runtime Error during Inverse dynamic

<t>HI Maria,<br/> I have had the same issue. I found that when I set up the IK analysis initially, the program crashes. However, if you reopen OS and immediately perform the same analysis, the program executs wihtout issue. I have also found that it is important to save the settings during the initi...

RE: No results from ID

Hi Ayman,
I posted a new zip file in the bug report. This one has all of the original files and the ID setup file. I ran this prior to submission and OS crashed.

I am running OS 2.2.0_b1

RE: No results from ID

I am having a similar issue. If I run the data without external forces, the Inverse Dynamics analysis works. Adding External GRF causes a breakdown.

I posted a bug report yesterday along with sample files. If the issue is the external force file, any insight woudl be great.

RE: Bent over scaled model

<t>With the help of Andrea Morelli, we were able to correct the problem. I had not changed the scaling factor settings to automatic, and rather had kept them exactly as in the tutorial 3 where manual scales were used for the femur and tibia. Changing the scale factors to automatic corrected the issu...

RE: Bent over scaled model

<t>I have run the scale tool with the preview static pose and the scaled model is bent over. <br/> <br/> I collected my dat awith the BTS Smart-D system, and created custom Matlab code to create the trc file. BTS also allows a direct export of their data into trc files. I have used both methods with...

RE: Bent over scaled model

<t>I have checked the file to ensure that labelling is correct, and have found no errors, but I will recheck. Is there a way in OS to turn on marker names of a previewed motion?<br/> <br/> Here is the message box answer:<br/> Frame 1 (t=0.508): total weighted squared error = 44.3503, marker error: R...
