Re: Jump Landing Inverse Dynamics: No ground contact issue

Hello all, I am still trying to figure out my problem of what could cause Inverse Dynamics Pelvis Ty force result (run with external force) to fall so far out of range. As I have verified that all my inputs are setup correctly in the GUI and unable to find any problems with my marker or GRF data, I ...

Jump Landing Inverse Dynamics: Pelvis Ty Issue During Pre-Landing

Hello, I am running Inverse Dynamics on stop-jump landing data as a checkpoint before running RRA. At the time range before the landing where the model has no ground contact, my inverse dynamics results (run with external GRF forces) come out problematic as shown in the image below, where the blue l...

Re: Unable to reduce pErrors and residuals to acceptable level

Thanks a lot for the project link Aaron! The issue I'm having with balancing the two is that it appears sometimes this balance can't be reached by simply decreasing optimal force and increasing tracking weight alternately. I am referring to the "Is My Model Good Enough" paper https://pdfs.semanticsc...

Unable to reduce pErrors and residuals to acceptable level

I am simulating a stop-jump landing scaled from GAIT2392 and have a MATLAB script that runs RRA repeatedly to obtain pErrors and residuals under an assigned max value. If the pErrors are too high, the tracking weight is increased in the Task file (by a factor of 1.5) and if the residual forces and m...

Re: cant use MATLAB script to transform c3d file

Hi there, I am also having the same error message with the c3dExport.m file. My error message reads: Undefined function or variable 'osimC3D'. Error in c3dExport (line 35) c3d = osimC3D(c3dpath,1); I am also a beginner in using MATLAB so I may have to do some reading online first, but I did read the...

View window

Hi there, I noticed that whenever I click the X+/-, Y+/-, Z+/- cube icons on the right of the view window that it zooms out my model when trying to re-orient it. If I use these views buttons too often my model becomes very "far" and small and difficult to view. I tried to zoom it back in but this do...

Re: Issues using version 1.5.5 motion data on version 3.3

Hi James, thanks for your reply. I downloaded OpenSim 2.4 and tried to open the v1.5.5 osim file however after prompting me to update the version 1.5.5 model, it displayed a pop-up saying "Error updating model files.". In the messages window (copied below) it says the model was migrated to version 1...

Issues using version 1.5.5 motion data on version 3.3

Hi, I am studying the effects of wearing an ankle exoskeleton (a biarticular spring) on the calf muscles and would like to simulate this for multiple walking speeds. I would like to use available motion capture data from the SimTk website, such as the ones from this study by Liu et al (https://simtk...

Adding an exoskeleton generated moment to a model

Hi all, I am interested in looking at the effects of adding a moment generated by an ankle exoskeleton on the moments and forces in the joints and muscles of the rest of the lower limb. How can I add a known moment or a spring component (from calf to ankle) to an existing lower limb model (such as f...
