Hi
I have scaled a model in OpenSim 3.3, ran it in SCONE using Tutorial 4a and optimized it, but after two steps the model falls over. It is scaled to represent a taller individual, do I perhaps need to change center of gravity in one of the tutorial files? Do the muscles scale automatically with the bones or could this also be the problem?
Thanks
Jess

Re: Scaled model falling over
How much did you scale the model? If it's scaled by too much, you might need to optimize an intermediate model first, and use the optimized parameters as input for the fully scaled model.
Also, you might need to increase the muscle strength of the taller model. I believe OpenSim only scales the muscle length, but not strength.
Finally, it may help to run multiple optimizations in parallel (Ctrl+Shift+F5). Sometimes it takes multiple attempts to find an optimization that works.
Let me know if this helps!

Hi,
It actually turned out to be a scaling issue. But the multiple optimizations helped with my other models so thank you!
All the best
