Abstract Integrator Error

SCONE is a software tool for predictive simulations of biomechanical movement. It uses OpenSim for modeling and simulation, and performs optimization using various control strategies, including feed-forward control, proprioceptic feedback control, and bal

Abstract Integrator Error

Post by Eric Hu » Tue Oct 29, 2024 9:40 am

Hi Dr. Geijtenbeek,

Thank you so much for helping me understand SCONE and for your patience with me as I ask you these questions. I was wondering if you could explain this error that I ran into for me:

I plan to model a passive prosthetic by inputting an estimated passive torque/moment equation to the ankle joint. I have tried the ExpressionBasedCoordinateForce and the CoordinateActuator with a lua file, but both crash my SCONE GUI and the simulations from each both produce that error. This equation that I am using was created by a multiple regression analysis between the experimental torque as the dependent variable and the ankle joint angle and joint velocities as independent variables. This error could be from not having the correct units and I was wondering if you could clarify that for me as well.

Do you have any suggestions or alternatives from a SCONE perspective that might help me? I'm working to figure out if the equation itself might be my issue.

Thank you,
Eric

There is probably an issue with the OpenSim model that makes it unsuitable for predictive simulations. My advice is to, whenever possible, use any of the models from the SCONE Tutorials and Examples as a basis for your research.
