Wang Metabolic Cost of Transport Calculation

Post by Eric Hu » Fri Jan 10, 2025 4:38 pm

Dr. Geijtenbeek,

I was wondering if you could explain the cost of transport calculation for the Wang Effort term. In the provided screenshot, I found that if you divide the effort value by the distance, it doesn't match with the cost of transport term given after the weight term. Could you explain how this value is calculated and what the units are?

Dr. Geijtenbeek,

My apologies! I forgot that I also need to normalize by body mass. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Best,
Eric
