Moco prescribed kinematics requiring pre-existing trajectories file?

OpenSim Moco is a software toolkit to solve optimal control problems with musculoskeletal models defined in OpenSim using the direct collocation method.

Moco prescribed kinematics requiring pre-existing trajectories file?

Post by Willem Ruseno » Tue Jul 27, 2021 8:32 pm

To begin with, I am trying to run simulation up to CMC tool.

My experiment involved motion capture of gait cycle. The marker placement follows modified Helen-Hayes configuration for both sides of the legs. 7 markers each side - 14 in total for both sides
- 7 markers each side
- the active markers placement can be seen in the attachment

due to the limitation of the program provided by my lab, the maximum number of markers that can be tracked and processed up to 3D-reconstruction are 7 for each side, thus additional marker to be put at the upper extremities (sternum, cranium, etc) to give the torso its trajectory [hence, requiring the use of Moco as the given example of SquatToStand]

I am using the full body model by Rajagopal et. al. , modified the marker placement to follow modified Helen-Hayes marker configuration.

However, what I noticed from the the squatToStand example is that it requires trajectory or ".trc" as one of the input. Does this mean that there needs to be at least one trajectory files with such configuration as the reference?

And for the case of walking gait (on a runway), will changing the goal coordinate be enough to give the model the "upright" torso position?
